Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor have fallen victim to Grok’s digital undressing, where users request the AI tool to make women appear in bikinis without consent.

It came after viral pictures appeared to show the trio partying together.

The images allegedly showed Deepika celebrating her 40th birthday with Alia and Shraddha. Deepika turned 40 on January 5.

In the supposed pictures, Deepika appeared in a yellow and black outfit and was seen holding a cigarette while posing casually with the other actresses. The setting resembled an intimate house party.

However, doubts quickly emerged.

None of the actresses shared the images on their social media accounts, and no credible media outlet reported such a celebration taking place.

When a user asked Grok about the photos, it replied:

“These images appear to be AI-generated or edited. There’s no verified reports of Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Shraddha Kapoor attending a birthday party together on Jan 5, 2026.”

In reality, Deepika attended a meet-and-greet event with fans in Mumbai in December before travelling on holiday with her husband, Ranveer Singh.

Despite this, the situation escalated when another user tagged Grok and issued a prompt asking it to “Dress them in bikinis.”

Grok responded by generating bikini-clad images of the actresses, which were quickly circulated online and sparked widespread criticism.

Many users expressed anger and discomfort, raising concerns about how easily AI tools can be misused to create misleading or inappropriate content involving public figures.

The episode triggered broader debate about digital literacy and the rapid evolution of AI image generation.

Some users criticised those who failed to identify the images as artificial.

One comment read: “Funny how most people aren’t able to figure it’s AI.

“AI has really evolved beyond imagination in image generation.”

Another wrote: “It’s funny to think people are taking AI lightly, when AI has already surpassed ‘imagination’ in image generation!”

Others were more direct, as one stated:

“It’s AI… Focus on Sharadha’s heels.”

Another said: “Don’t share such stupid AI stuff..don’t misinterpret people.”

A third added: “It’s AI you silly woman.”

The incident highlights growing concerns around Grok and it being used to create sexualised images of women without consent.

After much backlash, X stopped its AI system from generating images for most of its users and restricted it to a paid service.

This means the image generation can still happen, but for paid subscribers who offer their name and payment details to Elon Musk’s platform.
