Dining With The Kapoors is an upcoming web series that presents Bollywood’s Kapoor family in all its fun and food-loving glory.
The family is touted as the industry’s first film family, beginning with the legendary star Prithviraj Kapoor.
Prithviraj’s legacy was continued with his sons, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, and Shashi Kapoor, and his grandsons, who comprised Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, and Rajiv Kapoor.
Randhir’s elder daughter, Karisma Kapoor, was a reigning actress of the 1990s, while his younger daughter, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Rishi’s son, Ranbir Kapoor, are icons of the 21st century.
Behind the scenes, strong matriarchs, including Ramsarni Kapoor, Krishna Kapoor, Jennifer Kapoor, Neila Kapoor, and Ritu Kapoor-Nanda, were instrumental figures.
The famous clan is also known for their fondness for food.
On November 15, 2025, the trailer for Dining With The Kapoors was released.
It begins with Kareena describing the family as “funny, loving, united.”
She adds: “They’re very fond of eating. They love to laugh, too.”
Raj Kapoor’s daughter, Reema Jain, says: ‘The entire Kapoor family is a dramatic family.”
We then see visuals of family members cracking jokes with each other and gathering around the table.
Scenes of Raj Kapoor’s films are also seen, with Mukesh’s hit song, ‘Mera Joota Hai Japani‘, playing in the background.
Rare shots of Raj’s birthday parties go on to charm and entice the audience.
Neetu Kapoor says: “Joint families are so much fun.”
Karisma Kapoor adds: “It’s like any normal family.”
Ranbir Kapoor proposes a toast around the dinner table and announces:
“To the families that stand by us, to the meals that bring us together.”
He also quotes the lyrics from Raj Kapoor’s famous song from Mera Naam Joker (1970):
“Jeena yahan, marna yahan, iske siwa jaana kahan?” (We live here, we die here. Where else do we go but here?).
Dining With The Kapoors also features Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Reema Jain, Armaan Jain, and Anissa Malhotra Jain.
Randhir Kapoor, Bharat Sahni, Manoj Jain, Zahan Kapoor, Neila Kapoor, and Kanchan Desai will also make appearances.
Armaan Jain, who created the show, previously said: “Growing up in the Kapoor family, food and cinema weren’t just passions.
“They were the moments that brought us together.”
“The real magic happens around the dinner table, where stories, laughter, and memories define who we are.
“This film is my way of honouring that legacy, celebrating the bonds that connect us, and sharing the warmth that food and family bring.”
Dining With The Kapoors is written and directed by Smriti Mundhra.
It is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on November 21, 2025.
