After almost 16 years, the Salman Khan-daan are celebrating a wedding in the family!
Yes! It’s the most talked about wedding of 2014 where Salman’s baby sister Arpita is ready to tie the knot with Aayush Sharma.
While the Khan-daan is leaving absolutely no stone unturned to make sure it’s the dream wedding for Arpita, DESIblitz has all the juicy details.
- The Happy Couple
Salman Khan’s beloved sister, Arpita Khan needs no introduction at all. Every Bollywood follower knows how much Salman loves his younger sister.
Aayush is a Delhi-based businessman who hails from a rich family. However he wants to enter Bollywood as an actor and is currently looking out for good roles.
The couple who got introduced through a common friend, is said to be in a relationship since 2013.
- The Wedding Venue
Arpita and Aayush’s grander than grand wedding will be at the Falaknuma palace in Hyderabad.
Apparently the bride’s wish was to have her wedding in a palace and thus the family finalised the venue. Salman is allgedly spending two crores just on the location.
The palace, which was converted into a luxury hotel, has 60 lavish rooms, decorated halls and a 101-seat dining hall, said to be the biggest in the world.
- The Wedding Date
The date for Arpita and Aa
yush’s wedding was reportedly sometime in January 2015.
However recently when the two families were in Shimla holidaying together, they decided to prepone the wedding date and soon began the wedding preparations with no compromises whatsoever.
- The Wedding Rituals
Though the wedding will take place in Hyderabad, Salman’s Galaxy Apartments, has been lit up already which tells us the celebrations have already begun.
The wedding ceremony will begin on November 16th, 2014, with pre-marital customs. Arpita will have her haldi ceremony on Sunday in Mumbai following which, the family will leave for Hyderabad.
In Hyderabad, Arpita and Aayush will get married as per the Hindu Punjabi traditions, which includes Mehendi, Sangeet, Pheras, Reception and Post Reception Party. Post the marriage function, the families will be returning to Mumbai to throw a splendid wedding reception on November 21, 2014.
- The Guest List
With such a grand wedding comes an unending list of guests, the crème de la crème of Bollywood.
Everybody knows that Salman recently met the PM of India and invited Modi to the wedding. However the Prime Minister is unlikely to attend as he will be travelling to Australia. The actor is also believed to have invited Congress President, Sonia Gandhi.
From B-Town, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, his wife Kareena Kapoor, Dharmendra, his wife Hema Malini, Karan Johar, David Dhawan and many other celebrities have reportedly confirmed their attendance.

Amidst all the Salman-SRK animosity, everybody is curious to know if Sallu’s frenemy Shahrukh has got an invite and if he will attend the wedding.
According to the reports, King Khan and his wife Gauri have already confirmed their presence at. SRK stated: “I don’t need any invitation to attend Arpita’s wedding.
“I don’t know if the invitation has reached home because I have been away from home and have not yet got the time to go back home. But that is not required.
“I have seen Arpita as a baby. I have cradled her in my arms so I will definitely be a part of her wedding. I share a very warm relation with Salman and his family is like my family. I will definitely go for Arpita who is like my own sister.”

The wedding card has been sent out to the who’s who of Bollywood and looks very pretty and classy.
The wedding ceremony details are embossed on a gold sheet with a multi-coloured border.
Earlier there were rumours that the entire wedding card will be gold-plated. However, Arpita has dismissed rumours on Twitter saying that her wedding card will not be gold plated!

Arpita who herself is a fashion designer has chosen Bollywood’s favourite designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla to design her wedding attire.
It has also been reported that Salman’s ex girlfriend Sangeeta Bijlani accompanying Arpita on her jewellery and trousseau shopping sprees.
Also Seema Khan, wife of Sohail Khan, who is also a leading fashion designer, has started designing outfits for the ladies of the Khan family.

Salman has not only spent Crores on the big fat Indian wedding, but has also gifted Arpita a lavish three-bedroom apartment with a terrace.
Supposedly the actor had purchased the apartment a few years ago for his baby sister.
