Katrina Kaif is on course to launch an international career, as the gorgeous Bollywood actress secured her role in Kung Fu Yoga, starring Jackie Chan.

Kung Fu Yoga is the first in a 3-film production agreement signed between China and India.

Katrina Kaif is on course to launch an international career, as the Bollywood actress may have secured her role in Kung Fu Yoga, starring Jackie Chan.

Katrina is reportedly cast alongside the international film star in the Indo-Chinese film, directed by the renowned Stanley Tong.

But sources claim the B-town beauty has not yet announced whether she has signed up to do the film or not.

Her spokesperson says: “Katrina is yet to take a decision on the film. Nothing is confirmed as of yet.”

If Katrina gives the nod, the Hong Kong-born actress will play an Indian professor at a Chinese university. Her character will embark on a treasure hunt with a Chinese archaeologist (played by Jackie).

As expected for any actor in Jackie’s films, stunt performance is crucial and Katrina will be no exception. From what we have seen in Ek Tha Tiger (2012), she should have no problem with kicking ass!

An unnamed source revealed: “There are a lot of stunts in the film which is not surprising since it features Jackie Chan, a martial arts expert.

“What is interesting is that Katrina too will get to do many action scenes. Katrina will be seen kicking and punching in this film too.”

Kung Fu Yoga is the first in a 3-film production agreement signed between China and India, when President Xi Jinping visited New Delhi in September 2014. It will be jointly produced by India’s Viacom18 and China’s Taihe and Shine World.

While Jackie and Stanley have confirmed their involvement in the film early on, a number of Indian actors were rumoured to star in the film, including Aamir Khan and Tiger Shroff.

It was a shame Aamir had to turn it down due to scheduling conflict, as Jackie is a huge fan of him.

The Chinese actor said: “I watch very few Bollywood movies, but I loved 3 Idiots. It was a huge success in Hong Kong. I became an Aamir Khan fan overnight. I think he is a terrific actor.”

Nevertheless, Tiger may close the deal soon, as a source revealed he met with Stanley and Viacom18 officials recently.

The source said: “The actor is working out his dates for Tong keeping his future commitments with Sabbir Khan (Baaghi) and Remo D’Souza (Turbanator) in mind. The deal is likely to be inked soon.”

The Karate Kid (2010) actor has previously starred with Mallika Sherawat for The Myth in 2005. Now 10 years later, Jackie will hopefully see another Bollywood beauty by his side. Fingers crossed Katrina says yes to the film!

Stanley Tong is often credited for launching Jackie’s career in the US with Rumble in the Bronx (1995). Under his creative direction, Katrina will certainly hope to emulate a similar level of success.
