Indian Matchmaking’s Sima Taparia picked Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma as her favourite celebrity couple. Find out why.

Why Sima Taparia calls Virat & Anushka the 'Perfect' Couple f

"amongst the youngsters, it’s Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli."

Sima Taparia, star of Indian Matchmaking, has revealed who is her favourite celebrity couple.

On the reality show’s second season, one of the most controversial moments was when Sima claimed that Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were not a good match.

While speaking to her client Nadia Jagessar’s family, Sima gave her opinion on Priyanka and Nick.

Nadia explained that she was interested in a man named Vishal, who was seven years younger than her.

However, Sima quickly shot it down, stating that the age gap was too much.

Nadia tried to argue her case, citing Priyanka and Nick’s 11-year gap.

This prompted Sima to admit that she is not a fan of the star couple.

Sima told Nadia: “They have married but it’s not a good match.”

The matchmaker then seemingly age-shamed Priyanka, adding:

“He looks so small and petite in front of her, and she looks elder.”

According to Sima, the perfect celebrity couple is Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli. On the older side, she said Hema Malini and Dharmendra.

When asked who is the most perfectly matched celebrity couple, Sima said:

“Call me old but I think Hema Malini and Dharmendra are perfect and amongst the youngsters, it’s Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli.”

Virat and Anushka got married in 2017 and they became parents to a girl named Vamika in 2021.

Meanwhile, Hema and Dharmendra have been married for 42 years.

Sima Taparia believes that in relationships, it is fine for a man to be older than the woman but not the other way round as she feels “there is bound to be a clash in maturity levels”.

Anushka is six months older than Virat. Dharmendra is 13 years older than Hema.

During Indian Matchmaking, when Nadia told Sima about her interest in Vishal, the matchmaker replied:

“Two-three years okay, but seven years younger… I mean, they’ll not be… because they’ll have a difference.

“Matureness is very important. You are more mature because you are seven years elder. So I think we’ll drop Vishal.”

A third season of Indian Matchmaking is expected to return soon.

The final moments of season two featured the introduction of a new client and Sima arriving at London’s Tower Bridge.

The new season will have some new clients.

It will follow the same format and Sima will work with clients from around the world.

At the same time, some old clients will be making an appearance. Currently, it is unknown who they will be.

Creator and producer Smriti Mundhra said:

“It’ll be similar to Season Two in that the idea is to always keep expanding on the conversations that the show brings up in organic ways.

“We’ll stick with characters whose journeys are continuing for audiences, then also introduce new people that audiences can fall in love with.
