Which Cities are Popular for Affairs in the UK?

When it comes to affairs in the UK, it is more prevalent in some cities than others.

Illicit Encounters is the UK’s largest and longest-running dating site for married people and it has posted an index of where the most cheating is taking place.

The interactive Infidelity Index allows users to search a town, city or postcode to discover how many people are having affairs in any locality.

Unsurprisingly, London has the most people having affairs, with over 178,000 people cheating on their partners.

Given that it is the UK’s most populous city, it is certain that London is home to the most unfaithfulness.

Compared to 2021, London has seen approximately 10,000 more people having affairs.

The increase is being blamed on the cost of living crisis, making it too expensive for unhappy couples to divorce. Instead, they are cheating.

There has also been a surge in affairs as life returns to normal following two years that have been blighted by Covid-19 restrictions.

The capital is also home to 16,144 registered swingers, 51 strip clubs and 128 sex parties.

This may persuade Londoners to give in to their temptation with someone other than their partner.

A study by The Bottle Club also found that London was the kinkiest city in the world with over 10,000 content creators on OnlyFans and 30 famous porn stars naming themselves after the city.

In second place was Birmingham with 47,964 people having affairs and Manchester came in third with 35,887 people having affairs.

When it comes to the percentage of cheaters by population, Chester leads the way with over 12,800 people, which is 4.52% of citizens.

For a number of years, Chester has been called a cheating hotspot, according to Illicit Encounters.

In fact, Chester is called the cheating capital of the north, with Leeds having the second-most cheats by population in the north (4.31%).

On the other end of the scale, Bournemouth, Huddersfield and Milton Keynes were the country’s most faithful locations with the lowest amount of affairs.

“The cost of living crisis has been a huge factor in boosting the numbers of affairs.

“Sex is one of the few things you can do which is free and is a good way to relieve stress.”

“Fewer unhappy couples can afford to divorce because the cost of setting up two new homes is astronomical. Far cheaper to stay in an unhappy relationship and have a discreet affair.

“A second factor has been life finally returning to normal after Covid and cheaters making up for lost time after two years of restrictions.

“The run-up to Christmas is always a boom time for affairs because most people are back in the office and looking for some fun.”

Since launching in 2003, more than 1.5 million people have had relationships with Illicit Encounters.
