When is Coldplay performing in India?

Coldplay has announced it will be returning to India after a nine-year gap.

The performances will take place in 2025 as part of Coldplay’s ongoing Music of the Spheres World Tour.

These much-anticipated concerts mark the band’s return to the country after their memorable 2016 Global Citizen Festival performance in Mumbai.

The announcement was made through a teaser shared by BookMyShow Live.

It revealed that the popular band is set to perform in Mumbai in January.

Shortly after, Coldplay’s official account revealed the much-awaited tour dates.

The band is set to perform at Mumbai’s DY Patil Sports Stadium on January 18 and 19, 2025.

Fans flooded the comments with their enthusiasm, expressing their eagerness to secure tickets.

A fan said: “Coldplay’s performance will be the perfect way to start 2025.”

Another hilariously added: “Should I start selling my kidney!!??!”

Along with fans, prominent brands showed their enthusiasm too.

Tide India wrote: “We only love ‘Yellow’ but only as a song, not as the stain on your clothes.”

Spotify India commented: “Did we fall asleep and wake up in para, para, paradise?”

Vh1 India added: “We’ve already started seeing a sky full of stars.”

India has long been a special destination for Coldplay, and the band has frequently expressed their admiration for the country’s vibrant culture and passionate fanbase.

The 2025 concert will draw huge crowds as Coldplay performs a mix of their classic hits and newer tracks from their Music of the Spheres album.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale on September 22, 2024, at 12 pm IST exclusively on BookMyShow.

Tickets start from Rs 2,500 (£22.50).

Fans will be able to purchase up to eight tickets per transaction, ensuring that large groups of friends and family can enjoy the concert together.

Indian fans are already marking their calendars for what promises to be one of the biggest musical events of the year.

With Coldplay’s massive following in India, the tickets are sure to sell out quickly.

Fans are expecting a special surprise guest to be revealed in the following weeks.

Many are hoping to see Kim Seokjin from BTS make a special appearance.

There is a strong hope for a collaboration between Coldplay and the K-pop star, following their successful hit ‘My Universe’.

Seokjin also appeared as a special guest during Coldplay’s live broadcast from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He performed his single ‘The Astronaut’, co-written by Coldplay, on October 28 and 29, 2022.

Fans are hoping to see them perform together on stage again.
