"Joining hands with two of the finest"
Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor will collaborate for the first time in Bawaal.
The film will be directed by Nitesh Tiwari while Sajid Nadiadwala.
There were previous reports that Varun would be working with Nitesh for his next project. It was also believed that the film would go on floors in February 2022.
It has now been revealed that Bawaal will star Varun and Janhvi.
In his announcement, Varun said: “Ab hoga Bawaal!
“So excited and grateful to announce my next with the amazing duo, Sajid Nadiadwala and Nitesh Tiwari along with Janhvi Kapoor.”
He added that he is excited to be working with Nitesh Tiwari for the first time.
Varun has worked with Sajid Nadiadwala on three occasions, Dishoom, Judwaa 2 and Kalank.
Meanwhile, Janhvi said: “Joining hands with two of the finest, Sajid Nadiadwala and Nitesh Tiwari.
“I’m so grateful and happy to announce my next, Bawaal starring opposite Varun Dhawan.”
The announcement left fans excited about the two stars collaborating, with many posting fire emojis.
The announcement also revealed that Bawaal will release on April 7, 2023.
However, no other details about the project have been revealed.
Bawaal marks the second collaboration between Nitesh and Sajid. They previously worked together on Chhichhore, which won a National Film Award for ‘Best Feature Film in Hindi’.
In addition to Bawaal, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor have a lot of exciting projects in the works.
Varun will next be seen in Jug Jugg Jeeyo, which is set to release on June 24, 2022.
He will also star in Bhediya alongside Kriti Sanon.
Varun also has an untitled film that will be produced by Rajkumar Hirani.
Janhvi will be seen in the likes of Good Luck Jerry, Mili and Mr & Mrs Mahi opposite Rajkummar Rao.
Varun and Janhvi were set to share the screen together in Karan Johar’s Takht. The film was said to feature an all-star cast, however, the project has been shelved for the foreseeable future.
In other news, The Kashmir Files‘ director Vivek Agnihotri praised Varun for helping him during tough times.
He had said: “I love Varun. I owe a lot to Varun.
“I don’t want to speak on camera, it’s between me and him.
“He helped me at a time when nobody in this world was helping me, and quietly. He is a great soul. I wish for him, I don’t know about stardom and all, I wish he always remains happy and very successful.
“He is a great boy, I love him. I am not saying this because I want to do a film with him. My eyes are also getting moist, because he had helped me at a time when I couldn’t have expected at all that a person like him would help me.”
