"So easy to fool Pakistanis with Photoshop."
As Pakistanis grappled with the disappointment of losing to India, cricketer Umar Akmal chose to make his own statement but it backfired.
Umar, who was snubbed for the T20 World Cup, shared a series of shirtless snaps.
Umar has often been trolled for not focusing on his fitness.
But in an attempt to silence his critics, he tweeted:
“Attention please, this is for those who think I am not fit.”
In one photo, Umar posed with his hands behind his head and pouting whilst flaunting his abs.
Another photo captures him gazing into the distance, posing nonchalantly with his hands on his hips.
His post went viral and prompted a variety of comments, ranging from amusement to admiration.
One comment read: “Better physique than Babar.”
Another mocked Umar’s physique, writing: “Umar bhai holding his breath for pictures.”
Some accused him of editing his pictures, with one person saying:
“So easy to fool Pakistanis with Photoshop. A person who has abs doesn’t have any muscle on arms.”
Another asked: “Why does he only have abs?
“The rest of his body is entirely lean except for his abs. It looks photoshopped. A very bad job of photoshop.”
A user said: “If you actually had these abs naturally, you would not have the arms of a girl.”
A user corrected Umar’s caption humorously and said: “This is for fitness who think I am those.”
One person mocked: “Breathe bro, you’ll pass out.”
Another stated: “He is trying to come back to the team. This is why he has been pulling such stunts.”
One said: “They are not gonna take you in the team bro.”
Another questioned:
“You call this fitness? Your body looks deformed.”
One remarked: “I feel sad for him. He has to resort to such extremes just to feel validated.”
TikToker Ken Doll accused Umar Akmal of going under the knife and said:
“Badly done fat removal, let me know if you need assistance to get you to the right surgeon.”
Umar Akmal’s dedication to fitness is certainly commendable.
However, his choice to post shirtless pictures to prove his point is questionable.
Some have admired his physique and applauded his efforts to stay fit while others saw the post as a distraction from his poor cricket performances.
