He forced her into his car.
A dramatic twist emerged in the kidnapping and harassment case involving Samiya Hijab as Hassan Zahid, the suspect, has reportedly confessed.
The startling admission came before Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mehmood Chaudhry, where Hassan was produced by Islamabad police for a hearing.
When the magistrate directly questioned him about threats and attempted abduction, Hassan responded:
“Sir, I made a mistake.”
The court heard the police’s request for an eight-day remand.
However, Magistrate Chaudhry instead granted five days of physical remand, handing Hassan back into police custody for investigation.
The case was registered following Samiya Hijab’s detailed complaint and video testimony.
According to her FIR, Hassan had been stalking her for days and finally attempted to forcibly abduct her from her home.
Samiya stated she was returning gifts when he confronted her aggressively, escalating to threats, harassment and physical assault.
She also claimed possession of CCTV footage, supporting her narrative and strengthening the police case against Hassan’s alleged violent behaviour.
Soon after the report, Islamabad police arrested him, assuring the public that swift action was taken based on Samiya’s evidence.
In an Instagram post, Samiya thanked the police but revealed Hassan had threatened her repeatedly to withdraw her formal complaint.
She declared confidently: “I am not one of those girls who cannot raise their voices for their rights.”
The case against Hassan includes several charges under the Pakistan Penal Code, covering assault, harassment, robbery, defamation and attempted kidnapping.
Adding further gravity, Samiya recounted the chilling details of Hassan’s last confrontation at her home in an interview.
According to her, Hassan initially visited under the pretence of inquiring about her sick mother’s health before turning violent.
Samiya dialled the police emergency helpline ‘15’ beforehand, suspecting his intentions, and prepared to record whatever might unfold that day.
When he arrived, he allegedly demanded that her mother give him Samiya’s hand.
He also threatened to “break her legs” if he saw her with someone else.
Samiya said she recorded his threats, but Hassan noticed, snatched her phone and went outside.
She followed him and struggled to retrieve the phone, during which she was injured as he forced her into his car.
According to Samiya, Hassan released her only after she warned that police were already on their way to intervene.
Meanwhile, old social media videos showing both Samiya Hijab and Hassan Zahid together are circulating, fuelling speculation about their prior friendship.
Public reaction has been fierce, with netizens demanding justice and expressing outrage that a woman faced such horrifying violence.
