"I’ll do my best to honour the legacy."
Sunny Deol’s Border 2 is one of the most anticipated sequels in Bollywood. The film is an extension of the classic, Border (1997).
Border also starred Suniel Shetty as Assistant Commandant Bhairon Singh, BSF and was directed by JP Dutta.
The sequel will be produced by JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, and Bhushan Kumar. It will be directed by Anurag Singh.
In interesting news, it has been confirmed that Suniel’s son, Ahan Shetty, has joined the star-studded cast of Border 2.
In a short clip posted on Instagram, Ahan says in a voiceover: “There is no line, wall, or chasm that the enemy cannot cross.
“What else is this border? There’s only a soldier and his brothers.”
Sonu Nigam’s classic song, ‘Sandese Aate Hai‘ was played in the background.
Border 2 also stars Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh.
Captioning the clip, Ahan wrote: “Border is more than a film – it’s a legacy, an emotion, and a dream come true.
“Ironic how life works – my journey with Border started 29 years ago, when Mum visited Dad on set while pregnant with me.
“I grew up hearing OP Dutta’s legendary stories, holding JP uncle’s hand, and sitting by Nidhi Dutta’s side.
“I never realised how much those moments would shape my love for cinema and the Indian Armed Forces.
“Now, being part of Border 2 is an absolute honour. JP uncle – thank you for continuing to hold my hand, I hope to make you very very proud.
“Nidhi, your hard work brought this dream to life. Thank you for all that you are and do.
“Bhushan Sir, thank you for trusting me with this opportunity, I’m eternally grateful.
“Anurag Sir, I’m excited to work under your guidance.
“Working with Sunny Deol sir is a blessing, and I can’t wait to share the screen with Varun Dhawan, who I look up to as an older brother.
“As a huge Diljit Dosanjh fan, sharing the screen with him is surreal.
“And to you, Papa – everything I am is because of you, and I’ll do my best to honour the legacy you’ve worked so hard to create.”
