Sunetra Sarker shocks Loose Women Viewers with ‘Insensitive’ Dig

Sunetra Sarker came under fire from Loose Women viewers after making an insensitive remark during an appearance from Coronation Street star Simon Gregson.

The actor, who plays Steve McDonald in the long-running ITV soap, was on the panel show to raise awareness about mental health.

He also opened up about his 20-year anxiety battle, including how he almost didn’t go on Loose Women after suffering a panic attack shortly beforehand.

Simon explained: “It all came to a head in 2015, I kept having anxiety attacks, panic attacks.

“Which is so bizarre because I’ve been having them all day today. I was like, ‘there’s no way I can go on’.

“It just hits you like a tonne of bricks and makes you completely incapacitated. I’ve been having them since 1990 but I just got on with it.”

Simon revealed Coronation Street producers called in a doctor to help him as his condition came to a head.

He also spoke about how he had to visit a psychiatrist because his mental health was causing him to believe he was suffering from mystery illnesses.

He decided to take action after his anxiety started affecting his family.

Simon added: “When I had children and they were noticing it and they were getting anxious, I thought, ‘I’ve passed it on. It’s like a cold – I’ve given it to them’.”

But after bravely opening up about his ordeal, Sunetra Sarker made a huge blunder as she introduced the next segment.

As she shifted to a discussion revolving around Robbie Williams’ new biopic Better Man, Sunetra teased that she had an “important question” for the soap star.

She said: “Simon, before you go, we have one very important question that we need to ask you.

“It’s so important, honestly, you might have a panic attack it’s so important.”

Viewers were shocked by her comments and took to X to share their disbelief.

One wrote: “‘You might have a panic attack’.

“Did she really just say that to Simon Gregson after he opened up about having one before the show? F***ing hell. #LooseWomen.”

Another asked: “Did Sunetra really just say that to Simon!? #loosewomen.”

A third fumed: “The host making fun of a panic attack #LooseWomen.”

Others hit out at Sunetra for interrupting guests, with one commenting:
