Shah Rukh Khan is confirmed to make a cameo appearance in Laal Singh Chaddha.

Aamir Khan announced the news and revealed how he convinced SRK to be a part of the film.

But, he did not reveal what role Shah Rukh will play.

Aamir plays the titular role and it follows the story of Laal as he chases his dreams as well as love.

Directed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha also stars Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya.

During an interview, Aamir revealed how he got Shah Rukh to do a cameo.

He explained: “Well Shah Rukh is a friend and I told him that I needed someone who can represent what Elvis (Presley) represented in America.

“I need the biggest iconic star of India, which is why I am coming to you. He was really sweet and he said, ‘Yes’.”

It is not known what role SRK will play.

Earlier in 2022, Shah Rukh held an Ask Me Anything session on Twitter. One fan asked:

“Did you watch Laal Singh Chaddha?”

SRK replied: “Aamir says first show me Pathaan!!”

Laal Singh Chaddha is the official Hindi adaptation of the 1994 Hollywood classic Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks.

Backed by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions, the film is scheduled for worldwide release on August 11, 2022.

Atul Kulkarni wrote the script and he said:

“I wrote the script for Aamir. It all began about 13-14 years ago.

“I’m happy and fortunate enough that it turned out well. Aamir liked it and decided to do it. We were talking about the films we like, that’s when Forrest Gump came up.

“The next day I was supposed to travel somewhere for my shoot but it got cancelled.

“So, I had 10-15 days on my hands and Forrest Gump was on my mind.

“I had not seen this film in a long time, so I thought I should watch it again.”

The film has received a negative response even before its release, with many calling for a boycott.

Aamir previously urged people to watch the film and now, Akshay Kumar has spoken about the matter.

Akshay, whose film Raksha Bandhan releases on the same day, said:

“As I just said this, it is a free country, everyone can do what they want.

“But this all helps the economy of India. We are all on the verge of becoming the biggest and the greatest country.

“I would request them (the trolls) and you (the media), don’t get into it.”
