Simply Rahat Concert ~ Free Tickets Competition

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan the nephew of the late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, embarks on a magestical tour of the UK with concerts in Manchester, Leicester, London and Birmingham. Here is your chance to win free tickets to a concert.

DESIblitz in association with Saregama are proud to present a competition for you to win free tickets to Rahat Fateh Ali Khans forthcoming concert Simply Rahat. The tickets are for the Manchester concert on Friday 19 March 2010, at the Palace Theatre, Manchester.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was born in 1974 in Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan, into a family of traditional musicians. His ecstatic vocals are the result of years of training at the feet of his superstar uncle, the late and great Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Who trained Rahat in the art of classical music and Qawwali.

Rahat’s first public performance was at the age of ten or eleven, when he toured the U.K. with his uncle in 1985, and performed solo songs in addition to singing with the Qawwali party.

He is also world-famous for his mega hits in Bollywood films. Singing hit songs such as Teri Ore, Teri Ore (Singh Is Kinng), Bol Na Halke Halke (Jhoom Barabar Jhoom), Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaaye (Kalyug), Jag Soona Soona Lage (Om Shanti Om), Main Jahaan Rahoon (Namaste London), O Re Piya (Aaja Nachle), Khwab Jo (London Dreams), De Dana Dan (Rishte Nate) and Sajda (My Name Is Khan).

The competition closed on the 18th March 2010 at 2.00pm. We had 56 correct entries. Each entry was assigned a sequential number starting from 1 up to 56. With the first correct entry as 1 and the last correct entry as 56.

The Simply Rahat concert will feature him with his group of twelve musicians to perform a mixed repertoire of memorable Qawwalis and his greatest Bollywood hits, from ‘Akhiyan Udeek Diyaan’ and ‘Saason Ki Mala Se Simroon Mein’ to ‘Jag Soona Soona Laage’ and ‘Jiya Dhadak Dhadak’ from blockbuster film’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Kalyug’, respectively.

On the evening of the concert you will be in the presence of Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan on lead vocals, Wajahat Ali Khan, Farhat Ali, Asif Maqbool Chishti, Ghulam Abbas, Ali Raza, all on chorus; Muhammad Shafique on chorus and harmonium; Rashid Ali on saxophone; Salman Ashraf on bass guitar; Nadeem Ashraf on drums; Suleman Ali on keyboards; Amir Ali on tabla and Ghulam Shahbaz on dholak.
