"'Mera Na' out worldwide in loving memory for you"
British Asian producer, Steel Banglez teased a new song with Sidhu Moose Wala and Burna Boy on April 4, 2023. In an Instagram post, he said:
“My brother @sidhu_moosewala I remember when we first recorded this song at my studio and you told me I would never forget it.
“At the time I didn’t understand what you meant by that, but now myself and the whole world will know.
“Me and your brother the African giant @burnaboygram made this our priority to get ‘Mera Na’ out worldwide in loving memory for you, your family, and the fans.
“I feel so blessed and honoured to have two of the biggest icons in the world on one record together.
“Fusing two cultures to create the monster record that is ‘Mera Na’ (Your Name Lives Forever).”
Now, that time has finally come and the world gets to hear what the two biggest artists in the world sound like on one song.
Whilst thousands still mourn the passing of Sidhu Moose Wala, his memory guarantees to live on through music.
African music icon, Burna Boy, was one of those who especially felt the loss of Sidhu and promised to remember his memory. And, this new collaboration promises to do just that.

Released in the early hours of April 7, 2023, the music video gained over 5 million views in just four hours.
Sidhu’s team released the news on his Instagram and millions of fans flocked in to show their love and support for the track.
One fan wrote: “Nobody can stop him even after death” and another comment read: “Legends always alive in our hearts.”
Banglez uses his raw compositions to mix Sidhu’s lyrics and tone against a smooth hip hop style beat.
Burna Boy adds his signature brash vocals to the song and he and Sidhu’s voices compliment each other perfectly.
Additionally, there was a lot of admiration for Burna Boy for doing this project. One YouTube comment said:
“Gotta respect Burna Boy for doing this. I know he was sad after Sidhu passed but not a lot of artists follow up on their grief.
“Maybe others were doing it just for show.
“But Burna Boy actually loved Sidhu and that’s why I love this track between them.”
There were previous rumours of a Burna Boy and Sidhu Moose Wala mixtape, so could this just be a start?
Either way, millions of people around the world will rejoice in ‘Mera Na’ and savour the monumental release between two of the world’s biggest artists.
