“Brother I have no words to praise you."
Pakistani singer and social activist Shehzad Roy has won the hearts of many fans after he released a new song which is dedicated to the children of Palestine.
Shehzad shared the music video on social media along with the caption:
“We have seen flowers at a funeral, now we are seeing the funeral of flowers.
“This is a song to raise our voices and save the children of Palestine and stop the war.”
The music video shows a group of young children happily running through a field full of greenery and the focus turns to a young girl falling onto the grass which then turns into ruins.
The touching video has attracted a lot of media attention and fans of the singer have applauded him for using his platform to voice his support for Palestine.
One fan wrote: “Brother I have no words to praise you.
“In a time when most celebrities are silent, you have taken a stand. I have no words. May you be blessed with much more success.”
Another added: “I’m so happy to see you raise your voice for Palestine.”
A third commented: “Massive respect for you.”
Shehzad Roy was born in Karachi and was encouraged by his father to make a career out of something he loved.
He is a talented singer, guitarist, producer and humanitarian.
He released his first album Zindagi in 1995 and within two years Shehzad released his second album, Darshan.
Although his earlier albums were full of romantic love songs, his sixth album featured songs that highlighted social issues, and all of his albums proved popular with his fans.
Shehzad hosted two documentaries highlighting topics such as education, poverty and patriotism in Pakistan.
Shehzad was awarded his first PTV Award for Best Pop Singer and this led to many more awards over the years, including Best Male Artist, Best Performer in a Video, Best Stylish Song and Best Lyrics/Pop Song for ‘Laga Reh’.
He was honoured with the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2005 and the Sitara-i-Eisaar in 2006.

Two years later, Shehzad was selected to be a torch bearer for the Olympic games.
In 2018, he was presented with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan.
Some of his most famous songs include titles such as ‘Mukhra’, ‘Teri Soorat’, ‘Kangna’, and ‘Saali Tu Maani Nahi’.
