"On-screen foe, off-screen buddy"

Ever since the film Pathaan was announced, all eyes have been on Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, and Deepika Padukone.

It has been a few weeks since the first song from their film ‘Besharam Rang’ has been released but the song has already broken the internet.

It has also become a topic of discussion on social media.

On the occasion of John Abraham’s birthday on December 17, 2022, Shah Rukh Khan wished his co-actor by sharing his new still from the film.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Shah Rukh Khan shared a new still from their upcoming film Pathaan.

John plays the antagonist in the film, which also stars Deepika Padukone.

In the new still, John looks intense in all-black attire. He wears a black leather jacket over black denim and holds a gun in his hand.

Sharing the poster, Shah Rukh Khan wrote: “On-screen foe, off-screen buddy… Happy Birthday, dearest @thejohnabraham.

“Watch our clash in theatres on 25th Jan in #Pathaan! Releasing in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu. @deepikapadukone| #SiddharthAnand | @yrf.”

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will star in three films in 2023.

These include Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan, Jawan, and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki alongside Taapsee Pannu.

Recently, a video of him visiting Vaishno Devi went viral on social media.

He had covered his face as he visited the temple ahead of Pathaan‘s release. Later, images were also released.

Pathaan is a part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe.

The film is slated to release in theatres on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Meanwhile, with ‘Besharam Rang’ getting opposed by various groups, in the latest development, Madhya Pradesh’s Ulema Board has expressed its displeasure and demanded the movie should not be released.

The board has demanded a boycott of the film Pathaan.

The board’s president Syed Anas Ali said that the film should be stopped from hitting the theatres over the ‘obscenity’ in the music video.

Stating that he has received several calls and complaints about the vulgarity in the film, Syed Anas Ali said that Islam has been propagated with an incorrect approach.

He also mentioned the All India Muslim Festival Committee has taken a stand about the music video and has boycotted the film.

He further appealed to ‘everyone’ not to watch Pathaan and said:

“Such films are made to make fun of Islam and Muslims. They should be opposed.

“Pathans are a highly respected community but they have been portrayed in a very wrong way in the film.”
