Salman Khan reveals he once Suffered from 'Suicide Disease'

"Your fans don’t care about it."

Salman Khan told the media at the Dubai launch of Tubelight’s first song, ‘Radio’, that he was suffering from a facial nerve disorder, Trigeminal neuralgia.

The disease is also called the ‘suicide disease’ because many patients develop suicidal tendencies.

He shared that at one point he felt suicidal, although he channelled his energies and worked harder.

Salman Khan said: “That’s one disease that basically has the highest rates of suicides.

“There is so much pain. I suffered that. So, at that point in time, I realised that I need to work really hard.

“No matter how much pain you are going through.

“It made me realise that you can’t put any subtitles – your ligament is torn, you have the flu or that your knee is hurting – in any of your scenes.

“Your fans don’t care about it and that you really need to give your best on-screen.

“Once it’s printed, it’s lifelong.”

Salman Khan first made the revelation about his medical condition in 2001, saying:

“There is a flex and hoarseness in my voice, it’s not because I am drunk, I don’t drink during Ramadan, it’s because of this ailment.

“I’m doing fine. It’s just that now, I had no choice but to pay attention to my health.”

The disorder occurs due to the inflammation of the trigeminal nerve in the face. This inflammation can cause intense pain.

The pain can be so severe that the disease often causes depression in patients.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman will next be seen in Tiger 3 co-starring Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist.

A source close to Tiger 3’s production revealed that Salman Khan had briefly taken over a special role while shooting a key sequence in the film.

The source revealed: “Katrina has done some double flips in a few of the action scenes of the film.

“During these scenes featuring tough action choreography, Salman Khan literally took over the duties of being an action director.

“He assisted Katrina in some of the action sequences and helped her perform the scenes well.”

Tiger 3 is directed by Maneesh Sharma and is slated to release on Eid 2023.

Salman Khan will also soon be making his Telugu cinema debut with Godfather, co-starring Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, and Ram Charan.

The news was confirmed by Chiranjeevi, who took to his Twitter handle on March 16, 2022, and welcomed his co-star.

Salman Khan also has films like Kick 2 with Jacqueline Fernandez and Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali co-starring Pooja Hegde.
