It has been reported that Salman Khan has walked out of Bull. The film was to be produced by Karan Johar.

Bull marked Karan’s second collaboration with Salman. The former directed the latter in his directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998).

The new project was announced in November 2023, after Karan hinted that he would soon be reuniting with Salman Khan.

Vishnuvardhan was directing it.

However, it has now emerged that the Dabangg star is no longer a part of the film.

A source stated: “After a lot of back and forth on the dates, Karan and Vishnu were still not able to commit to the exact timelines of the shoot.

“That’s when Salman conveyed his decision to back out from the project. Salman politely informed his decision to Karan.

“[Salman] said, ‘Destiny doesn’t want this film to happen, so let’s move on.’

“Karan is exploring newer ideas for a collaboration with Salman.

“He might give another try to make Bull a reality but at the moment, the army film is shelved from Salman’s end.

“If Karan can commit to a certain timeline on paper, he might come back and try his luck to relaunch the project.”

Even though Salman Khan and Karan have only collaborated on one film, Karan frequently speaks about Salman’s graciousness in signing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Salman played the extended cameo of Aman Mehra in the movie.

The role was initially offered to Saif Ali Khan and Chandrachur Singh – both of whom turned it down.

Speaking of how Salman came on board, Karan said:

“I went to everybody for Salman’s role and nobody said yes to me.

“I met Salman at Chunky Panday’s party and he was like, ‘You know, only an absolutely confident person will do this film and I’m that person’.

“I went and narrated the film to him. At the first half, he said, ‘I’m doing it’.

“I said, ‘But Salman, you come in the second half’.

“He said, ‘No, I don’t care. I know where it’s going. I really like your dad and I like your energy. I’m doing the film’.”

In 2014, it was also rumoured that Salman and Karan would work together on a film titled Shuddhi. However, the film never went on floors.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Karan last directed Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023).

Salman Khan will next appear in a film to be directed by AR Murugadoss.
