“Pakistan was, is, and will always be Zindabad.”

Sahir Ali Bagga, one of Pakistan’s most celebrated singers and composers, has announced that he is working on a new national song.

The singer recently talked about the upcoming song.

He said the project is a response to growing tensions in the region and provocative actions from across the border.

Bagga’s intent is to uplift national morale and remind Pakistanis of their shared identity, using the unifying power of music.

This isn’t Bagga’s first foray into patriotic compositions.

During the high-stakes political climate surrounding the arrest of Indian pilot Abhinandan in 2019, Bagga composed the widely popular track ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.

The song quickly became an anthem of solidarity and pride, echoing through rallies, gatherings, and national broadcasts.

Now, six years later, he’s returning with the same spirit to once again use melody as a form of national expression.

Bagga expressed deep gratitude for the affection he continues to receive from the people of Pakistan.

He noted that the slogan “Pakistan Zindabad” was among the first declarations of identity when the nation was born.

Bagga said that it continues to pulse in the hearts of Pakistanis everywhere.

He remarked: “We want to convey a message to the world that Pakistanis are a peaceful and loving people.”

Reaffirming his unwavering patriotism, Bagga added:

“Pakistan was, is, and will always be Zindabad.”

His words reflected both personal conviction and a broader emotional current that his music often taps into.

On a lighter note, Bagga also spoke about his passion for cricket.

While he doesn’t follow all matches, he said he never misses a game when Pakistan faces India.

Among his favourite players are Wasim Akram, Shahid Afridi, and Kamran Akmal.

As for the Pakistan Super League, he counts himself a loyal supporter of the Lahore Qalandars.

Aside from his musical contributions to national identity, Bagga has also been involved in the political music scene.

In a conversation with BBC Urdu, he recounted performing a political song at a private event.

Bagga disclosed that the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was in attendance as well.

The performance reportedly moved Sharif to tears, a moment Bagga described as one of the most profound of his career.

Through turbulent times and political shifts, Sahir Ali Bagga continues to use his voice and compositions as a vessel for unity, emotion, and national pride.

With a new song on the way, he is once again stepping into the familiar role.
