Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are currently basking in the success of Brahmastra.
Following dismal box office runs for several Bollywood films, Brahmastra looks to be one of India’s biggest releases of 2022.
The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni.
Brahmastra marked the first onscreen collaboration between power couple Ranbir and Alia. Now, it is reported that they are planning to do more films together in the future.
According to India Today, the couple is keen to work on a rom-com together.
A source said: “Both Ranbir and Alia were waiting for Brahmastra‘s release before deciding to work in a film again.
“They wanted to get feedback from the audience to explore more films in the future.
“They were offered films in the past, but the duo said no to them.
“However, the success of Brahmastra is making them explore more options together. They wish to do a romantic comedy together.
“About Brahmastra, they are really happy with the feedback received. In future, if any offer comes to them, they will consider if it is good.”
In Brahmastra, Ranbir and Alia played the roles of Shiva and Isha.
The end of the film revealed that the sequel would focus on the character of Dev.
It led to speculation as to who will be in the second instalment, with rumours that Ranveer Singh and Hrithik Roshan have been approached for the role.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan had an extended cameo as scientist Mohan Bhargav and his appearance was loved by audiences.
Some have now called for a spin-off on the character to be created.
Teasing that it is a possibility, director Ayan Mukerji said:
“Before the fans were saying it, we were also saying that ourselves.
“When we were shooting the sequence in 2019, we were also saying on sets.”
“As we discovered the personality of the scientist, we said, ‘Yaar, we have to do stuff. We have to do the origins story of the scientist!’”
In their personal life, Ranbir and Alia got married on April 14, 2022. In June, the couple announced that they are expecting their first child together.
On the work front, Alia will be seen in Jee Le Zara and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. She will also make her Hollywood debut opposite Gal Gadot in Heart Of Stone.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor will next star in Animal and Luv Ranjan’s untitled project.
