Radhe Mohan Sharma is such a meticulous and calculated character. Was it challenging to portray him?
R Madhavan tells us that that the character was difficult for him to play because he is a common man.
The actor adds that Radhe is very good at arithmetic and numbers so Madhavan had to memorise the dialogues well to perform this authentically.
Madhavan found this relatable in that he found the common man within him.
Hisaab Barabar tackles fraud quite uniquely. How do you think this is relevant in current society?
Madhavan explains that there was a time when only the individual had the right to extract or deposit money into their bank account.
However, nowadays, people don’t keep track of their accounts.
Madhavan finds it unnerving that people can do what they want with his account and only inform him of this action afterwards.
He immediately connected with the story of Hisaab Barabar, as everyone has gone through financial fraud.
Madhavan added that he hoped the film would inspire people to cultivate a new approach to handling finances.
This is your first collaboration with Neil Nitin Mukesh and Kirti Kulhari. How was the chemistry on set among you?
Madhavan reminisces that both Kirti and Neil were very professional and he found it easy to work with them.
He praises Ashwni Dhir for generating a positive collaboration between him and Kirti, in that an appropriate romance was created.
The Shaitaan star is excited to see the reactions of the audience to this working rapport.
Ashwni Dhir has a very distinct style as a filmmaker. How would you describe your experience working with him on a project like this?
Madhavan tells us that Ashwni is renowned for portraying social satires.
He underlines that Ashwni’s office is also respectable and Madhavan saw first-hand how the office is treated by the judiciary and government.
R Madhavan hopes that the audience will connect with Ashwni’s story in Hisaab Barabar.
Having portrayed so many layered characters, how does Radhe Mohan Sharma stand out for you as an actor?
R Madhavan re-emphasises that Radhe is a common man and doesn’t seem very powerful.
This perception changes when the audience sees what Radhe questions and what he is capable of.
Madhavan recognises that the character may not be as exciting as some of his previous work.
However, he underscores Radhe’s rawness and genuineness.
With the rise of streaming platforms like ZEE5 Global, do you think storytelling is evolving, and what made ZEE5 Global a good platform for Hisaab Barabar?
Madhavan thinks that streaming platforms have opened doors to new talent and original ways to create influence and stories.
He adds that films sometimes become stronger when they are accepted on digital platforms.
Madhavan tells us that ZEE5 Global is taking heartland stories to the world and that’s what makes Hisaab Barbarar appealing.
What do you hope the audience will take away from Hisaab Barabar?
Madhavan declares that the final message of the film is not to underestimate the common man.
