Actress Priyanka Chopra was on holiday in Miami, Florida, celebrating her 37th birthday, along with her mother Madhu and husband Nick Jonas.
Pictures of their holiday circulated, however, they were for the wrong reasons.
The actress was seen relaxing on a yacht, puffing on a cigarette. Her mother and husband were pictured smoking a cigar.
This prompted fans to take to Twitter where they pointed out that in 2010, Priyanka posted a tweet where she said smoking is “awful”.
Others called her out for smoking even though she released an inhaler advert in which she spoke about being diagnosed with asthma at a young age.

One user wrote: “It’s your life, it’s your choice. But why this hypocrisy Priyanka Chopra.”
Another person posted: “Shame on them. Madhu ji shame on you.”
A social media user commented:
“Please don’t judge all North American desi’s by this SLOB, Priyanka Chopra!”
“And please don’t blame Nick Jonas! She purposely chose a gaijin half her age & size… cuz he’d be impressionable & unable to reach her extended arm.”

Some users even trolled the actress for celebrating her birthday amidst the Assam floods. She was appointed the brand ambassador of Assam tourism in 2016.
While some users were not happy with Priyanka, others said they should mind their own business.
One wrote: “People change with time. Their perception towards life and choices change as they grow.
“Someone didn’t smoke in 2010 doesn’t mean they can’t in 2019. (Not supporting smoking but just let Priyanka Chopra be).”
Another tweeted: “So, Priyanka Chopra was pictured smoking. Can’t a woman make independent choices without being trolled!
“Maybe she did not smoke before, maybe now or maybe she was just taking a drag… leave her alone!!
“She is an Indian icon… she has achieved what few Indians have!!”
This is not the first instance where Priyanka has been trolled online.
In December 2018, she was criticised for letting off crackers at her wedding when she campaigned for people to have a cracker-free Diwali.
She was also shamed for wearing a short dress when she met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Berlin, Germany.
On the work front, Priyanka will be seen in The Sky is Pink, alongside Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. She is also rumoured to have signed a film with Hollywood star Chris Pratt.
