Popular Asian Dating Sites for British Asians

"we're a part of the British Asian community, we're about celebrating love"

Gone are the days when people were introduced to each other through friends and family.

Many British Asians now want to find their future partners by themselves as opposed to having an arranged marriage.

One way they find love is through online dating, which has become increasingly popular in today’s modern world.

Living in a country like the UK where Asians are a minority, finding your own partner of the same cultural background or religion however, can be a challenge.

The idea that you will bump into your dream person in a bar or coffee shop is very rare, and so, people are turning to sites and apps to find love. These apps are easy, accessible and a fun way to meet potential suitors on your own terms.

Everyone knows about Shaadi.com, however there are plenty more other dating services on offer.

DESIblitz reviews four of the different options British Asians have available for them, to find some love and romance.

AsianD8

Popular Asian Dating Sites for British Asians

AsianD8 is billed as everyone’s favourite dating community, as it is one the UK’s leading Asian dating sites. With plenty of successful matchmaking love stories in their 10 year reign. They host great speed dating, focus groups and mingling events for British Asians.

The website has now injected a new approach for Asian dating. One AsianD8 employee tells DESIblitz:

“We’re not just a dating site, we’re a part of the British Asian community, we’re about celebrating love.”

It is a dating website that helps find you a partner for Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims and you can get started for free but there is a cost to message. Here is what some of the members had to say about AsianD8:

“AsianD8 has the best social media presence and is the most in tune with modern day Asian dating,” says Rani Rehan.

“You tend to see the same profiles over and over again, I’m reluctant to pay to read a message that says ‘hi’,” says Jasleen Kaur, aged 27.

“Never did I think AsianD8 could have connected me with someone not only down the road from me who I’d never crossed paths with before, but bring me to the ONE person who understands me fully and loves me unconditionally,” Irun and Rav add.

Our DESIblitz verdict is 4/5 ~ AsianD8 caters for what British Asian online dating has become today and moved with the times. There does need to be an injection of new fresh members though.

Asian Single Solution

Popular Asian Dating Sites for British Asians

Asian Single Solution prides itself on being the largest events and dating website for British Asian single professionals. Now in its 13th year, the site specialises in hosting a series of events, as another incentive for their single subscribers to find love.

Paul, the CEO of the website, says: “In essence we wanted to create a convenient and effective place, where British Asian professionals could meet partners on their own terms.”

Paul is clear to state that they are not “interested in the casual dating scene” and instead want to focus on “helping people into relationships.”

On Asian Single Solution they offer events such as speed dating and single parties, as well as online profile and messaging services.

They cater for all religions Sikh, Hindu, Muslim and there is a charge to message on the site.

Here are what some past and present users of the website had to say:

“The event I attended was friendly and relaxed, which made me feel more comfortable,” says Sejal, 25.

“The same people are on here that are on every site, they just try and make it different by adding professional on the end,” says Jassi Basra, 32.

“We found each other on Asian Single Solution after a long search over the years via many pathways,” Sanjay and Renuka say.

Our DESIblitz rating is 3/5 ~ Asian Single Solution is a site that focuses on events which is great. It has produced many love stories, but it fails to distinguish a unique selling point that sets it apart from competition.

Dil Mil

Popular Asian Dating Sites for British Asians

When Dil Mil started, their vision was to be the biggest thing to happen to South Asian matchmaking. And they certainly have made their mark, with over 1 million successful matches under their belt.

Similar to Tinder, in the shape that Dil Mil is an app where people can flick through profiles of each other and swipe yes or no.

However, the difference is, this app is solely aimed at South Asians and you only get to speak if both parties have liked each other.

The CEO of Dil Mil, KJ Dhaliwal states how he started with a vision to “empower the world to find love” and believes Dil Mil is one step ahead of other sites and apps. He says:

“We have a very healthy male to female ratio. Women are comfortable and feel safe using our app as users are verified.”

Matches can be made from all different caste and religions and it is free to use and message until the limited amount of daily swipes runs out, there is a cost after that. Here is what the public thought of this app:

“It is actually quite fun, simple and easy to use and has some great looking girls on there,” says Arun, 22.

“I found it frustrating as there are a lot of American people on there and it doesn’t seem that popular over here due to the lack of Brit Asians on there,” says Jasmine, 28.

“I was reluctant to try it at first but gave it a chance for a week and actually met someone off it who I am very happy with,” says Rupinder, 25.

Our DESIblitz rating is 4/5 ~ Dil Mil taps into the fun app dating culture that Tinder created, but aims to produce serious matches and targets South Asians, only thing it is lacking is more British Asians users.

Ask Bhabi

Popular Asian Dating Sites for British Asians

Ask Bhabi offers something different from most dating websites and apps. It is a bespoke personalised matchmaking service, aimed specifically at the Sikh professional community.

Personalised being the key, as CEO and matchmaker Saranjit states her vision is: “To match singles Sikhs around the world, for me there is no better pleasure than knowing that I have brought soulmates together.”

Saranjit goes on to say how Ask Bhabi is not in competition with other sites, as her service has: “No online profiles, all matches are carefully handpicked for one another. And only the person that they are matched to sees their profile.”

There is a price tag attached to become a member of Ask Bhabi, however everything is 100% confidential.

They personally come to meet their members to find out about them and what they want in a partner, before matching them with someone from their portfolio.

Here is some of their member’s thoughts on Ask Bhabi:

“It’s not always easy to find a life partner who is compatible with your cultural and religious values. Ask Bhabi knew precisely what I wanted and were able to find the right partner for me,” says Jaideep Sohal.

“A bit too pricy and formal for me,” says Karan, 26.

“Something like this I wouldn’t mind trying, as I like the fact I don’t have to publicise my photo and the fact it is personalised,” says Sharon, 31.

Our DESIblitz verdict is 3/5 ~ Ask Bhabi is unique in that it offers British Asians a different approach in finding a partner. The fact it is aimed at just Sikhs alienates a big audience. However, it also means for single Sikhs, it more focused on finding them the perfect match.

There are many options out there for British Asians to find love online. All of these dating suites offer various ways in which to connect Asians with each other.

From apps, to speed dating events to personal matchmaking services, these Asian dating sites offer their own individual perks. But they unite in their ultimate goal to help Asians in the UK to find love.
