This was deemed likely an attempt to destroy evidence.

Renowned Sindhi poet Akash Ansari was found murdered in his home in Hyderabad’s Citizen Colony, shocking the literary community.

Initial reports suggested he had died in a house fire, but further investigation has suggested that his adopted son had responsibility.

Latif Ansari allegedly murdered him with the help of an accomplice.

The discovery of his burned body on February 15, 2025, raised suspicions, leading police to launch an immediate investigation.

Authorities first believed the fire had been caused by an electrical short circuit or a heater malfunction.

However, forensic examinations disproved this theory, revealing multiple stab wounds on Ansari’s body.

Dr Abdul Hamid Mughal had conducted the post-mortem.

According to him, the poet had been stabbed several times before his body was burned.

This was deemed likely an attempt to destroy evidence.

Sindh’s Minister for Education, Sardar Shah, later confirmed the presence of knife wounds, further solidifying suspicions of foul play.

The case took a turn when police detained the poet’s driver, Ashiq Siyal, for questioning.

During interrogation, Siyal claimed Latif Ansari had planned and carried out the murder with another person.

Siyal also claimed Latif was a drug addict.

Acting on this confession, law enforcement officials tracked down Latif in Badin and arrested him before transferring him to Hyderabad for further interrogation.

As reports of the murder spread, authorities decided to halt the poet’s funeral, which was initially set to take place in his hometown of Badin.

Instead, the body was returned to Civil Hospital Hyderabad for a thorough autopsy.

The shocking details of the investigation have turned the case into a high-profile homicide, with growing calls for justice.
