“I never offered him any advice"

Nauman Ijaz appeared on the show Meer Means Business and revealed that he had initially discouraged his son, Zaviyar, from joining showbiz.

He said his initial opposition was due to the industry’s cut-throat nature.

“I did my utmost to dissuade my son from entering the media world. Surviving in this industry is no joke; it’s a constant battle.”

“I never wanted my son to become an actor, but fate had other plans.”

Despite his reservations, Zaviyar has made a name for himself in the industry.

He has delivered standout performances in dramas like Bakhtawar and Tere Ishq Ke Naam.

Interestingly, Nauman confessed that he never offered his son any acting tips or guidance.

He preferred to let him navigate the industry on his own terms.

Nauman said: “I never offered him any advice because, at home, I’m just an ordinary person, not an actor.”

Nauman also took the opportunity to address the younger generation’s aversion to hard work.

He said: “If you put in the hard work yourself, that’s when your children will follow suit.

“Life is not a shortcut; I’ve spent 35 years in this industry, and it’s taken me a long time to reach where I am.

“To achieve success, you have to endure the journey.”

The seasoned actor also expressed his disdain for the allure of becoming an “overnight sensation”, a phenomenon he believes is unsustainable.

Nauman stated: “There’s no such thing as a shortcut.

“You have to put in the work and take your time. What rises quickly, falls just as quickly. This is what I’ve seen happen time and time again.”

His fans found his words inspiring.

A user wrote: “So much respect for Nauman Ijaz! His honesty and humility are truly inspiring.”

Another added: “I completely agree with him about the younger generation’s aversion to hard work.

“It’s so important to put in the effort and time to achieve our goals.”

One said: “Nauman Ijaz is a true legend! His wisdom and experience are invaluable. I love how he’s still so humble and grounded despite his success.”

However, others mentioned his personal life.

One pointed out: “Isn’t this the same man who had multiple affairs with multiple females in the industry?

“No wonder he didn’t want his son to join it. He would have been exposed.”

Another said: “You were so intelligent. You had so many affairs and you did not even let your wife find out.”
