On Valentine’s day, Namaste Wahala, the new exciting Indo-Nigerian collaboration, will premiere on Netflix.
Premiering on Sunday, February 14, 2021, Netflix has already released the trailer of the movie, and the reactions have been absolutely great.
Namaste Wahala, which roughly translates to ‘Hello trouble’, shows a Nigerian lawyer (Ini Dima-Okojie) and an Indian investment banker (Ruslaan Mumtaz) falling in love after randomly meeting at the beach.
Their story is not all rainbows and unicorns. Set over two diverse and rich cultures, their opposing families will not make it easy for the couple.
Namaste Wahala stars leading actors and actresses like Ini Dima-Okojie, Richard Mofe Damijo, Joke Silva, Osas Ighodaro, Ruslaan Mumtaz, Segal Sujata, Adaora Lumina, Ibrahim Suleiman, Frodd, Imoh Eboh, among others.
According to Shadow & Act, it is not the first time the two film industries have come together.
The movie J.U.D.E. is considered to be the first Indo-Nigerian joint production.
Nigerians are excited and cannot wait for the release of the upcoming Indo-Nigerian movie.
The two countries share several cultural similarities, and over the years, Indian films have gained enormous popularity in the country.
Both film industries have relatable plots which focus on family drama, romance and friendships, with the presence of beautiful costumes and dance moves,
Each year, Nollywood and Bollywood generate approximately $800 million and $2.6 billion respectively.
Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, a former businesswoman turned producer, is very excited for the premiere and shared:

Ahuja had also explained that this movie represents her cultural experiences living in India and Nigeria.
The leading actress, Ini Dima-Okojie expressed her excitement with her fans on Instagram, adding that she is counting down to Valentine’s Day in her latest post.
Netizens are beyond thrilled for the new release and many commented on her achievement.
We are curious to see how the South Asian audience will react to this new movie, but one thing is certain, it is going to be revolutionary.
Initially, the movie was due for release in cinemas in April 2020 but was postponed due to Covid-19.
