“Naga had her bullying hat on when this man was on."
Complaints have been lodged against BBC Breakfast, with viewers expressing dissatisfaction over Naga Munchetty’s interviewing style.
During the show which airs from 6 am to 9:30 am, Naga and co-host Charlie Stayt took part in a discussion with the shadow health secretary Wes Streeting.
The discussion was based on Labour’sproposal for supervised tooth brushing for children and fans of the show took to X to criticise Naga for her dismissive and biased questioning skills.
One viewer expressed their frustration by stating:
“What a negative interview with Wes Streeting.
“Talk about biased interviews. Naga could not have been more cynically dismissive. Why not appreciate the idea of trying to address a real issue?”
Another commented: “Naga had her bullying hat on when this man was on. Parents are too lazy to check their kid’s teeth are brushed.
“Chuck them in the car with a slice of toast.”
However, many came forward in defence of Naga and said she was not wrong in her approach.
One viewer wrote: “You lot are absolutely mad and it is frustrating that Naga has planted a seed in all your heads.
“As adults, we need to tell children what to eat and when they should brush their teeth!”
Another said: “Well done Naga for ripping this guy a new one. What a ridiculous idea.
“If a parent can’t clean a child’s teeth then that child should be taken away. Don’t put your problems onto responsible parents.”
A third added: “I am not a Naga fan, but the questions she and Charlie asked were relevant and reflected what most people must have felt about this ridiculous idea.”
It seems this wasn’t the first time Naga Munchetty made the headlines in 2024.
On January 4, BBC Breakfast viewers expressed criticism over Naga’s choice of wardrobe and described it as “fish-like” whilst questioning what she was wearing.
Naga Munchetty opted for a high-collared black silk top with ruffled sleeves, resulting in social media users making remarks such as:
“‘BBC Breakfast is Naga doing cosplay as a fish today?”
“What, pray, is Naga wearing this morning?”
During the broadcast, Naga and Charlie featured an interview with Luke Humphries, who secured his first PDC Darts World Championship by defeating teenager Luke Littler 7-4 in a thrilling final that took place at the Alexandra Palace.
