Mishi Khan questioned Turkan’s character

Mishi Khan has now jumped into the ongoing dispute between fashion designer Maria B and Turkish influencer Turkan Atay.

Mishi, a vocal public figure and close friend of Maria, took to Instagram to support the designer.

But instead of calming things down, her remarks have sparked even more controversy.

For those unfamiliar, Turkan Atay collaborated with Maria B several months ago.

According to Turkan, she never received full payment for her work.

After allegedly waiting for months, Turkan released a video calling out Maria B for the delayed payment.

The designer responded with her own video, and the dispute escalated quickly from there.

Now, Maria B has taken legal action, sending Turkan a defamatory notice after clearing the previous balance.

The issue has also become a public spectacle, with social media users and celebrities weighing in.

Whilst defending Maria B, Mishi Khan questioned Turkan’s character, saying she wears a hijab, but used a rude tone, which made her wrong.

She also downplayed the seriousness of the payment issue by referring to it as “chaar paisay” (a few pennies).

She suggested Turkan would have received the money anyway and didn’t need to speak out publicly.

Turkan Atay responded by reaffirming her stance. She said she has always represented Pakistan with dignity and spoke out only because she was repeatedly ignored.

She added that she is now being pressured through social media to stay silent, but she has no intention of backing down.

According to her, telling the truth shouldn’t be punished, no matter who is involved.

Social media users have been vocal in their criticism of Mishi Khan’s defence of Maria.

One commenter said: “We love you Mishi, but a payment is a payment and Maria B should have paid Turkan on time.”

Another pointed out: “It might be chaar paisay for you but it could mean more to the other person.”

One wrote:

“1000 dollars is not chaar paisay for people who aren’t rich like you.”

The backlash hasn’t stopped there. Observant netizens claim that negative comments under Maria B’s posts are being deleted.

Meanwhile, YouTuber Merium Pervaiz chimed in with a highly controversial comment.

Merium downplayed Turkan’s importance, saying “she’s not even important enough to be talked about” before casually asking Maria for a dress.

In the same comment, she added: “And when are you sending me the Eid collection dress? Always loved working with you!”

The comment only further fuelled claims that Maria B is using her network of influencers to shape the narrative.

Maria B may have settled the payment issue, but online, public opinion remains deeply divided.
