“This is not a matter of money from now"
Turkish influencer Turkan Atay has accused Pakistani fashion designer Maria B of breaching a collaboration agreement, sparking backlash online.
The influencer, known for her fashion and lifestyle content, shared a series of Instagram Stories.
She claimed Maria B’s team failed to fulfil payment commitments for a recent project.
Furthermore, they ignored her repeated attempts to resolve the matter.
According to Turkan, the issue has persisted for over three months.
She claimed the brand’s representatives did not respond to any of her messages, and her frustration has now escalated beyond money.
Turkan stated in a post: “This is not a matter of money from now, this is a matter of self-respect.”
The influencer stressed that she values dignity over financial compensation, especially when brands dismiss the efforts of creators who have already delivered work.
Turkan also clarified that she had previously worked with the brand free of charge, but this time, the agreement involved payment.
Despite the deal, the compensation never arrived.
She posted screenshots of her communication with the Maria B team to support her claims.

In another strongly worded story, she said: “You have the audacity to say I’m doing this for cheap publicity and views.”
The situation escalated further when Turkan accused Maria B of deleting her own response stories from Instagram.
The influencer viewed this as an attempt to avoid accountability.
Turkan’s posts resulted in online discussion, resonating with those in creative fields who often face similar issues with brands neglecting contractual obligations.
Maria B is no stranger to controversy.
The brand has previously faced criticism for allegedly copying a Turkish artist’s designs without credit.
This latest incident has once again raised questions about the brand’s ethical practices and its handling of international collaborations.
Social media users continue to express disappointment and demand transparency.
Many believe that repeated missteps like these could damage the brand’s credibility, particularly in the global fashion space.
Maria B later posted a story, addressing the accusations.
She wrote: “At Maria B, we have always valued our partnerships with creators, models, and influencers.
“In our 25 years, we have never withheld payment nor retracted from our commitments.”
“In the recent case involving a content creator, there was a regrettable misunderstanding that we were committed to resolving.”
Maria B added: “At no point was the payment denied.
“A meeting had been set up to address the issue but the influencer chose to make a defaming reel instead of accepting to resolve the issue amicably.”
The fallout from this latest controversy has left social media divided.
