Shakira Khan was left in tears during the June 29 episode of Love Island, after Harry Cooksley kissed Helena Ford during a steamy game of Snog, Marry, Pie.
The 22-year-old marketing worker from Burnley had been growing close to the semi-professional footballer in recent episodes.
Their connection appeared strong, especially after she chose him in the first recoupling, a decision that led to Sophie Lee’s elimination.
But the spark between Shakira and Harry was tested when he kissed his former partner Helena in front of everyone during the latest challenge.
Despite Shakira and Helena both snogging Harry earlier in the task, it was Harry’s decision to kiss Helena during his turn that shocked the group and blindsided Shakira.
Just before locking lips with Helena, Harry said: “There’s undeniable sexual chemistry.”
Helena had earlier chosen to snog Harry herself, telling the group: “It’s been a while and I wanted to test the waters.”
Shakira then kissed Harry too, admitting: “I fancy the pants off him.”
But when the boys took their turn, Harry’s decision to kiss Helena reignited speculation about lingering feelings between the former couple and left Shakira visibly stunned.
Though he later got down on one knee and said he would marry Shakira, the gesture failed to smooth things over.
The atmosphere turned awkward, with some of the islanders watching the scene unfold in silence.
Later that evening, Shakira broke down in tears and was comforted by fellow contestants Toni and Yasmin.
The 22-year-old got upset by the perception other contestants have of her, telling Toni and Yasmin:
“Tommy’s like, ‘Oh I have to pick someone’. No but you still picked me though.
“I’ve never, ever said a bad word to him. I’ve always been lovely to him and I just feel like, what the f**k?
“I’m sick of everyone painting me to be something that I’m not.”

Turning her attention to Harry’s kiss with Helena, Shakira said:
“I can handle all of them being b****es when I’ve got a good thing with Harry.”
“Now everything has gone to s**t.”
Hitting out at Helena, she said: “And she gets two wedding rings, f**k off.”
Shakira added: “Why the f**k would he kiss Helena?”
The emotional fallout followed growing concerns among viewers over the age gap between Shakira and Harry, who is 30.
Despite the eight-year difference, the pair had previously shown strong chemistry and had seemed one of the more promising new couples in the villa.
