Love Island fans were furious after Harry appeared to reveal he is faking his feelings for Shakira to stay in the villa.
The pair began to rekindle the spark they shared earlier in the series.
But moments later, he appeared to admit that his feelings were all for show.
Speaking with close pal Dejon on the day beds, Harry claimed:
“If I could couple up with another girl right now, I would choose Shakira.”
Referring to their earlier chat, Harry said Shakira was “lapping it up”.
Harry’s comment seemingly revealed his interest in the Burnley beauty was fake, angering viewers.
One viewer wrote on X: “She was lapping it up – Harry is sick in the head.”
Another said: “She’s lapping up – and then dapping up Dejon and laughing. I cannot stand his behaviour, I’m sorry. Big broad back 30 year old man.”
A third pleaded: “I swear to God Shakira please do not go back to Harry.”
One post read: “Harry is a clown… we need him out… he said Shakira was lapping it up … he’s full of s**t, this isn’t even destiny’s childish behaviour this is beyond that.”
Despite the backlash, Harry doubled down on his pursuit of Shakira later in the episode.
Pulling her for another chat, he even told her she’s “the one”.
Harry said: “Initially, you were number one for me.”
He then said that he doesn’t think he would do the things he does if they were together, because she “wouldn’t stand for it”.
Shakira confessed: “It was you. And still is you. But it’s your behaviour for me that I can’t tolerate.”
Harry then asked if they could give things another shot, saying: “If that could possibly be arranged?”
Shakira replied: “It could be arranged.”
At the beginning of the series, Harry had been laser-focused on Shakira.
But things soured after he secretly left the bedroom and spent the night with bombshell Helena.
That moment shattered any trust between him and Shakira, though he later admitted he believed they had “unfinished business”.
The possibility of the pair restarting their connection has annoyed Love Island viewers, with one tweeting:
“I will be so annoyed if Shakira goes back to Harry ffs.”
Another wrote: “Shakira, wtf is this conversation with Harry, especially after how he treated Helena and also after your talk with Ben.”
A third warned: “Harry better not play games with Shakira.”
