"they threw rocks at me for being short."
Javed Kodu appeared on Mazaaq Raat where he opened up about the pain of living with Dwarfism.
Born Muhammad Javed, he is a veteran stage actor and performer.
With thousands of live performances to his credit, Javed has achieved legendary status in the theatre world.
However, his path to success was fraught with numerous obstacles, compounded by his condition.
Javed’s son, Shera, who follows in his father’s footsteps as a performer, is currently a well-known dwarf artist on Mazaaq Raat.
During his appearance on the show, Javed Kodu opened up about the hardships he has faced since a young age.
He recounted a particularly harrowing incident from his childhood when he was bullied due to his condition.
One day, while returning home from school, a boy assaulted him on the road.
Javed recalled: “I was coming back from school and they threw rocks at me for being short. I went home covered in blood.”
Shockingly, the boy’s father encouraged the attack, saying that Javed deserved it because of his Dwarfism.
He further shared: “I went to school again the next day. Instead of being embarrassed for their actions, they said to me, ‘You’re back again?’”
Javed Kodu also shared a poignant story about his personal life.
He once fell deeply in love with a woman who was also part of the theatre world “but things never worked out between them”.
Javed asked her to marry him but she wanted other things in life and rejected the offer. This is something he remembers to this day.
People rushed to Javed’s support after hearing his story.
A user wrote: “My salute to the uncrowned king of the world of comedy, Javed Kodu.”
Another added: “This is why Javed is famous and rich now while his bully is a nobody.”
One said: “Javed Kodu deserves all the respect!
“Thanks Imran Ashraf for inviting this little legend and thanks for giving him so much respect. It felt nice to watch.”
