"I just think it would be better.”
Janhvi Kapoor shared dating advice for her younger sister Khushi.
The actress is currently gearing up for the release of Mili, which will be released on November 4, 2022.
Meanwhile, Khushi will make her acting debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. It will also mark the acting debuts of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda.
The Netflix film is an Indian adaptation of the popular Archie Comics series.
It will be released sometime in 2023.
In an interview, Janhvi was asked to give two pieces of advice for her sister as she prepares to enter the film industry.
Giving Khushi dating advice, Janhvi said:
“Don’t date an actor. Just because I think the kind of girls me and her are, I just think it would be better.”
She also advised Khushi to “know her worth”, elaborating:
“Know your worth, know that you do have something to offer despite what faceless people on Instagram might say.
“I want her to know that she brings a lot to the table, more than just her pedigree.”
Janhvi added how Khushi dealt with criticism, especially on social media, was “her battle to fight”.
Janhvi has been subjected to criticism ever since she entered the film industry and during the Mili trailer launch, her father Boney Kapoor defended her.
Boney said: “Everyone has a different mechanism to understand their character and become part of it.
“That was one of the major USPs of Sridevi, and Janhvi also picks up the character or rather gets into the character.
“My baby has just started her journey and one shouldn’t put her in comparison with any of the work of Sridevi.”
Boney also spoke about Khushi’s acting in The Archies. He said:
“When the teaser came out which Zoya (Akhtar) refers to as a ‘sizzler’, all three of us again sat down and we enjoyed watching it.
“There was nothing to criticise as it was amazing and we discussed the good points as those were the only things I could see.”
“The same happens when I see Janhvi’s films.”
In addition to Mili, Janhvi has several films in the pipeline.
She will star opposite Rajkummar Rao in Mr and Mrs Mahi. The film is directed by Sharan Sharma.
Janhvi also has the romantic-comedy Bawaal alongside Varun Dhawan. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is set to hit the theatres on April 7, 2023.
