"Alia doesn’t interfere with any of her directors"
Alia Bhatt made her debut in Telugu cinema with SS Rajamouli’s film, RRR.
Starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles, RRR has been praised by critics and the audience.
Recently, some reports suggested that Alia was unhappy with her limited screen time in the film and that’s why she deleted some posts related to it from her Instagram page.
It was also pointed out that she unfollowed SS Rajamouli on the app.
An insider close to Alia Bhatt laughed off the reports suggesting that she was upset with her screen time in RRR, and revealed:
“Alia has the utmost respect for SS Rajamouli and she became very close to the crew and cast of the film during its making.
“There is no truth to the fact that she is unhappy with her screen time.
“Alia doesn’t interfere with any of her directors and once the shoot is over she trusts the makers to take a call on the edit table.
“In fact, she has been receiving a lot of calls and appreciation for her scene with Jr NTR, which is very important in the story of the film.
“Also, Rajamouli has been cheering for Brahmastra and has spoken very fondly of Alia in all his promotional chats.
“So, there is no truth to the reports of Alia being upset.”
As for the Instagram posts and unfollowing SS Rajamouli, the insider added:
“Alia never followed SS Rajamouli, so there’s no question of unfollowing him.
“She archived all the old posts of RRR during promotions as she does with other films. She hasn’t deleted any RRR posts.”
RRR is set in the 1920s and follows the formative years of freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju, essayed by Jr NTR and Ram Charan, respectively.
The film features an ensemble cast that includes Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, Shriya Saran and Samuthirakani.
The Telugu-language period action drama film is produced by D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainments.
It was released on March 25, 2022, to positive reviews and it broke the record for the highest opening-day collection earned by an Indian film, grossing £25 million worldwide.
The record was previously held by Baahubali 2.
RRR also surpasses Akshay Kumar’s Bollywood crime drama Bachchhan Paandey to become the biggest opening day grosser of 2022.
Following its theatrical release, RRR will stream on Netflix and ZEE5, attracting even more audiences.
