"The woman didn't share her ordeal out of shame"

Indian man Prakash Bhil, aged 35, from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested on Sunday, May 12, 2019, after he allegedly inserted a bike handle grip into his wife’s uterus.

The incident came to light after the woman’s pain became unbearable.

It was alleged that Bhil had inserted the six-inch plastic piece two years ago following an argument between the couple.

They argued over his alleged infidelity with other women. Chandan Nagar Station officer Rahul Sharma said:

“The victim’s husband beat her up and inserted the bike handle piece into her private parts two years ago after a quarrel over his relationships with other women.

“The woman didn’t share her ordeal out of shame and was worried over the future of the kids.”

Sharma explained that the woman did not speak about the incident for two years.

In May 2019, the woman’s pain became unbearable and she went to a private hospital. Staff members said that she needed to undergo an operation immediately but only after paying Rs. 1 Lakh (£1,100).

Sharma added: “On hearing about the huge amount of money the poor woman preferred to run away from the hospital.

“On Sunday, she reached Chandan Nagar Police Station in bad shape.”

After the woman explained what had happened, police officers registered a case and the woman was admitted to the state-run Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital.

Doctors at the hospital stated that the surgery was complex as the bike handle grip had been pushed right up the woman’s uterus and into the bladder and intestine. The operation lasted four hours.

According to the head of the surgery department, Dr RK Mathur, he said the plastic piece had damaged the woman’s uterus, small intestine and urinary tract.

Dr Mathur said:

“The operation went on for four hours and we removed the plastic piece. We also treated the damaged parts.”

“Her condition is now stable.”

MY Hospital released a statement which explained that an infection had developed in the area since the grip had been in the uterus for a long time.

They added that it could have spread further if the operation was not carried out promptly.

Sharma explained that the woman is a resident of Dhar in Madhya Pradesh and is a mother of six. She has been married to Bhil for around 15 years.

The Hindustan Times reported that the Indian man, who works with a music band was arrested after his wife registered the complaint against him.
