Indian women’s cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has once again become a trending topic on social media, thanks to her latest Instagram advertisement.
The 29-year-old cricket star from Sangli, Maharashtra, is widely celebrated for her performances on the field and as captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women’s Premier League.
Fans immediately noticed that Mandhana appeared without an engagement ring in the video.
This fuelled and renewed the speculations about her postponed wedding with musician Palash Muchhal.
The couple was reportedly set to marry on November 23, 2025, at Mandhana’s farmhouse in Sangli.
This was supposed to follow a series of pre-wedding rituals, including the mehendi ceremony.
However, the wedding was abruptly delayed after Mandhana’s father, Srinivas, suffered chest pain.
Due to his condition, he was admitted to the intensive care unit of a nearby hospital.
Mandhana later clarified that the wedding would take place only after her father fully recovered, prioritising family over celebrations.
Around the same time, Muchhal was briefly hospitalised for unrelated health concerns but was discharged soon after treatment.
During this period, screenshots allegedly linked to Palash Muchhal circulated online.
A woman named Mary D’Costa shared screenshots on Reddit and Instagram of her alleged private conversations with Muchhal.
In these messages, which she stated occurred over a month from April to May 2025, he reportedly complimented her appearance and was generally ‘flirtatious.’
He allegedly invited her to meet for a swim, a spa session, and an early morning trip to Versova beach in Mumbai.
D’Costa also claimed that Muchhal described his relationship with Smriti Mandhana as “dead most of the time” due to long distance.
He reportedly avoided direct answers when asked if he loved Mandhana.
Mary D’Costa later clarified she had never met him in person, was not the wedding choreographer, and shared the screenshots as a fan concerned about transparency.
Adding to the intrigue, Mandhana deleted numerous personal videos and photos associated with her wedding and previous romantic posts.
Her return to social media with a new Instagram advertisement has once again stirred conversations.
Observers were quick to notice the absence of her engagement ring in the clip.

Despite ongoing speculation, neither Smriti Mandhana nor Palash Muchhal has issued any official statements addressing the current status of their engagement or relationship.
