Habibur Masum has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a mother to death while she was out shopping with her baby.
He was detained early on April 9 following the death of 27-year-old Kulsuma Akter.
According to detectives, Masum was arrested in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
The arrest followed a nationwide manhunt for Masum after Ms Akter’s death in Bradford city centre. Her baby was unharmed.
According to eyewitnesses, the victim was stabbed “four to five times” in the neck.
Geo Khan, who runs a fruit and vegetable shop in Bradford, found the victim lying face down on the pavement next to her baby.
He tried to resuscitate the woman.
Mr Khan said: “I was working on Saturday and I heard screams and ran out of my shop.
“I saw that the lady was lying face down on the pavement next to a pushchair with her five-month-old baby inside.
“I turned her over. There was a lot of blood and I checked for a pulse, but couldn’t find one.
“I could see the knife wounds to her neck and I tried to do CPR. Her friend was screaming.”
Emergency services were called but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson, of West Yorkshire Police, said the arrest followed a “tragic incident in which a mother has lost her life in the most horrific of circumstances”.
She added: “We understand that this has caused a considerable amount of concern in the local community.”
Police said Masum and Ms Akter were understood to have known each other and it was reported that he was the father of her baby.
Masum was an aspiring influencer and had shared a YouTube video, vlogging his trip from Manchester to Barcelona as a Bangladeshi student in the UK.
In another video from January 2024, Masum filmed himself walking through a housing estate while snow fell.
He warned his followers who are new to the UK not to “stay out in the cold too long” as they could get chest problems.
Court documents showed that he was charged with threatening to kill Ms Akter on November 24, 2023, and assaulting her the day before.
Both offences allegedly happened in Manchester.
Masum pleaded not guilty to both offences. It is understood he was released on bail and ordered not to contact Ms Akter.
His bail conditions also prevented him from contacting a second person or visiting a particular address
On April 8, police said they had also arrested a 23-year-old man in Cheshire on suspicion of assisting an offender. He remained in custody.
