Garry Sandhu’s performance in Sydney, Australia, descended into chaos when a fan attacked him.

Known for tracks like ‘Yeah Baby’, the Punjabi singer became embroiled in the altercation when he showed the middle finger to people in the crowd.

Footage showed Garry performing one of his tracks along with his backing singers.

Meanwhile, the crowd cheered.

However, Garry did not seem happy with one fan and appeared to point them out before showing them the middle finger.

The singer then positioned his microphone at a different angle, suggesting he did not want to make eye contact with the fan.

It is believed that Garry’s reaction was prompted by the fan calling him a “jali”, which can mean fake or a person not of principles.

Although visibly annoyed, Garry continued with his performance but the insults did not stop.

The person filming could be heard laughing while “jali” was heard being shouted by various men in the crowd.

Garry tried to remain professional but the repeated verbal abuse caused him to halt his performance.

It is not known what happened immediately afterwards but the clip then cut to an angry fan on stage in a heated altercation with Garry Sandhu.

The clip appeared to show the man getting physical, grabbing the singer by the throat.

Security quickly intervened to pull the aggressive fan off Garry. The man was taken off stage and it was reported that he was then arrested.

Attendees at the event were left shocked by what had transpired.

The incident also sparked a discussion on social media, with many wondering what actually happened.

One person said another incident had led to the “jali” remarks.

Another slammed the haters, writing:

“Hey, don’t watch the show if you don’t like it. Garry is an amazing guy, both online and in real life.”

Criticising the chaotic scenes, a netizen commented:

“These idiots, seriously. These days in Australia, they just get drunk at every party and create chaos for no reason.”

Others claimed that the individual might have been a genuine fan who had invaded the stage to hug Garry Sandhu.

Garry Sandhu has not spoken about the incident.
