“Wonderful night with the stars of Abir Gulaal at Global Village!”
Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor lit up the stage at Dubai’s Global Village during the grand music launch of their upcoming film Abir Gulaal.
Held under the open sky, the event drew an enormous crowd of fans.
The audience was treated to electrifying performances and a glimpse into the film’s musical world.
The energy reached a high when Fawad took the stage and performed the classic ‘Kuch Naa Kaho.’.
Abir Gulaal’s teaser played in the background, setting the audience into a frenzy.
Joining him was co-star Vaani Kapoor, and together, the duo danced to the film’s track ‘Khudaya Ishq’.
Their sizzling chemistry sent the fans swooning. Social media was soon flooded with pictures and videos from the night.
Many called their on-stage presence “magnetic” and “unforgettable”.
Global Village also posted highlights from the night with the caption:
“Wonderful night with the stars of Abir Gulaal at Global Village!”
Directed by Aarti S Bagdi, Abir Gulaal is scheduled to release in cinemas on May 9, 2025.
While excitement is building among fans, especially after the Dubai event, the film has not been free of controversy.
In India, political backlash has erupted, particularly from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).
The party has opposed the release of any film featuring Pakistani actors.
MNS leader Ameya Khopkar warned the filmmakers, stating:
“We will not allow any film featuring Pakistani artists to be released in Maharashtra. I dare them to release it.”
Due to this growing opposition, Fawad Khan has reportedly been unable to travel to India for the film’s promotions.
The restriction has also stirred discontent among Pakistani fans, who feel Fawad should focus more on local projects.
Many have questioned why he continues to take roles in Bollywood despite recurring bans and backlash.
Some netizens have even accused him of having an “inferiority complex”.
They pointed out that he avoids working with top-tier Pakistani actresses like Ayeza Khan or Mehwish Hayat, yet chooses to act alongside Indian stars.
The dual reactions from both sides of the border reflect the complex landscape Fawad Khan navigates as a cross-border artist.
Abir Gulaal is eagerly awaited by fans who admire his talent.
However, the film also sits at the centre of a cultural and political debate that shows no signs of fading.
