"I slapped him, he punched me. I blacked out."

Fatima Sana Shaikh opened up about a time when a man harassed her. The incident took an even worse turn when she confronted him as he punched her.

The actress explained that the incident happened as she was on her way back from the gym.

Fatima said that she noticed a man staring at her and she decided to confront him.

She recalled: “I was on my way back from the gym when I noticed a man starring at me.

“I confronted him and asked why he was staring. He said ‘it is my wish’.

“I asked him if he wanted a slap. He replied, ‘slap me’.”

The pair engaged in a war of words before the man then touched her face.

Angry with the man’s actions, Fatima slapped him, however, he then punched her.

She continued: “I slapped him, he punched me. I blacked out.

“Of course, I called my father first and informed him about the incident.

“He came with two-three other men. You know how fathers are. That man ran into a street.

“My father, my brother, and their friends went all, ‘Who touched my daughter’?”

She stated that her father is a “strong person and a strong support system”.

Fatima Sana Shaikh was a child actress. She took a break from Bollywood and returned with a leading role in Dangal.

On her initial days in the industry, Fatima revealed that she had a casting couch experience.

She said: “Of course, I have faced the casting couch.

“I have been in situations where I have been told that the only way I get the job is by having sex.”

“There are several times people have taken away work from me.

“There have also been times where I knew I was doing a film and I was replaced because of someone’s reference.”

Fatima Sana Shaikh was last seen in the Netflix film Ajeeb Daastaans.

In an interview, she spoke about the various characters she has played onscreen.

In relation to Ludo, Fatima said that she is not like her character Pinky. In the film, her husband has an affair before he is accused of murder. Pinky does whatever it takes to help her husband.

Fatima said: “I am not a virtuous wife kind of a woman. If someone does this to me, I will slap him.”

However, she admitted that taking action was easier said than done.

She drew on her own past, revealing that she has been in toxic relationships.

“I’ve also been in toxic relationships. It is very difficult to say, ‘I will do this, I will do that’.

When you are in it, it’s very difficult so I understand a lot of women go through that, especially when you’re not working and you’re financially dependent on your husband, it gets very difficult to get out of a bad marriage.”
