"Not everything you read in the papers has been fact checked"
As more sexual harassment claims against Amir Khan surfaced via the ex-BBC star Suzi Mann, it seemed that things couldn’t get worse for the former boxing champion.
News broke out of Faryal and Amir splitting up, but he’s been on a mission to reconcile their relationship.
He posted a video on his Instagram gifting Faryal a Mercedes G-Wagon. But, he was instantly trolled in the comments, one person said:
“This has to be up there with one of the most tragic things I have seen on social media.”
The pair have been in a constant battle for months, mostly down to Amir’s sexting scandals.
Although, Faryal has also come under fire, most notably Suzi Mann, who said she and Amir go out of their way to “abuse, blackmail, insult and threaten women”.
Now, there’s been another layer of drama to the story.
When Faryal publicly distanced herself from Amir and the turmoil of the claims against him, he posted a screenshot to his Instagram story around 10 pm on August 7, 2023.
The image was a private email exchange between Faryal and an employee of The Sun newspaper.
It shows a person named Kate sending an email that read:
“Hi, Faryal.
“The Sun have now removed all references to sexual harassment from this article x.”
The email is sent directly to Faryal, whilst Amir is just copied in.
Therefore, it seems it was Faryal who sent the initial communication, forcing the newspaper to remove certain claims against Amir.
So, it looks like Faryal is still battling the media in order to keep Amir’s reputation alive.
The boxer showed the screenshot on his Instagram story, along with the caption:
“Not everything you read in the papers has been fact checked.
“Anything else I’ll let slide, but not an accusation like this.”
“Yes, I’ve put my hands up where I messed up but people are really out here trying to paint me as something I’m not.”
There was no specific information as to which case the email was about.
However, after doing some digging, it seems the complaints from Faryal (and perhaps Amir) were about The Sun’s article where he “bombarded” Suzi Mann with flirty messages.
The report shows it was published on August 5, however, it was “updated” on August 7 at 6:59 pm.
This was only a couple of hours before Amir uploaded the image on his social media, confirming the removal of sexual harassment references.
It will be interesting to see how this impacts Suzi Mann and whether she will double down on her story about Amir so people believe her.
Likewise, if more evidence comes out against Amir, will Faryal continue to try and protect him?
People are already questioning her motives and it seems this email to The Sun could support Suzi’s claim that she abuses or threatens women.
So, is this an example of Faryal and Amir trying to silence people or a fair request on their part?
