"It looks so cheap, what is the purpose of such lustful music?"

Kriti Sanon’s upcoming film Do Patti has caused controversy for featuring a rebooted version of the classic Pakistani song ‘Akhiyaan De Kol’.

Originally sung by Reshma, the song has been given a modern twist in the film.

However, it has sparked criticism for the alterations in the original melody.

Social media users claim that the Do Patti remake has made the song sound like an item number.

In the video, Kriti is seen performing in a skin-tight red outfit, a departure from the soulful vibe of the original track.

Fans are displeased and online critics have voiced their frustration.

They called out the filmmakers for “disrespecting” the original by reducing its essence for the sake of views and likes.

Others have noted that the presentation does not do justice to the beauty and timeless quality of Reshma’s classic.

Fans argued that while adaptations can offer something new, this version is unacceptable.

They claimed the new adaptation stripped away the very elements that made ‘Akhiyaan De Kol’ so special in the first place.

Instead of honouring the legacy of the song, the reworked version feels like a commercial gimmick designed to appeal to the masses.

This controversy has reignited debates about Bollywood’s treatment of classic music.

Critics argued that certain songs are too significant to be repurposed in this manner.

A user wrote: “Reshma Jee would never have imagined that they would treat her song like this.

“It looks so cheap, what is the purpose of such lustful music?

“It was a great song which they butchered so brutally.”

Another added: “Not only is her outfit embarrassingly vulgar it is a total mismatch to the song.

“The dance steps and the entire choreography looks very stupid. Bollywood is gradually deteriorating.”

One user on X said: “India copied another iconic Pakistani song and successfully ruined it.

“Reshma Jee would definitely prefer death once again rather than listening to this atrocity.”

Previously, the remake of ‘Pasoori’ left many fans disappointed.

Numerous expressions of dissatisfaction and claims that the creators had “ruined” the original song surfaced.

Fans also highlighted the “hypocrisy of India”, noting that while Pakistani artists were banned from working there, Bollywood continued to “copy” their songs.

Following ‘Pasoori’, another popular track, ‘Jhoom’ by Ali Zafar, was also remade by Bollywood.
