Actress Preksha Mehta tragically took her own life on the night of Monday, May 25, 2020, at her home in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

The 25-year-old had been a part of various TV shows such as Laal Ishq, Meri Durga and Crime Patrol.

Preksha had even worked in the Akshay Kumar film Pad Man.

It was reported that she hanged herself on May 25. However, her death did not come to light until the next morning when her father discovered her body.

She was rushed to hospital but doctors declared her dead.

Hours before her death, Preksha posted a message on Instagram. She wrote:

“The worst is when your dreams die.”

Preksha last social media post was a selfie on Instagram, captioned with lyrics from the popular song ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’.

After news of her death came to light, her final post was flooded with tributes from her followers.

It was revealed that Preksha had become worried about her career. A suicide note was found at the scene which stated that she tried to stay positive during the crisis but could not.

Preksha had moved to Mumbai to further her career. She returned to her native home in Indore before the lockdown.

Due to lockdown, acting work had stopped. It was reported that Preksha was concerned about not getting any work after the lockdown was lifted.

For a number of days, Preksha felt depressed but did not speak to anyone about it.

According to family and friends, Preksha felt stressed about her career. Due to a lack of work, she started to feel lost.

After moving to Mumbai, Preksha starred in several episodes of the popular show Crime Patrol. She also had a lead role in the film Sakha.

Preksha Mehta had taken an acting course at the Film and Drama Academy in Bhopal.

After a few appearances in TV shows, she began to get roles. Despite the roles, her work dried up as a result of the lockdown.

All television and film shoots have been postponed since March 19 in a bid to reduce the spread of Coronavirus.

This has left many actors and crew members temporarily unemployed and worried about their future.

Preksha’s tragic suicide comes just days after actor Manmeet Grewal took his own life at his Mumbai home. He reportedly had financial issues and had run into huge debts.
