"She feels so alone."
In ITV’s Coronation Street, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) has not had a good time recently.
In August 2025, a special episode of the soap saw Asha deal with a terrible death in her workplace as a paramedic.
Her day worsened even further when someone she was helping hurled racist abuse at her and spat in her direction.
In the wake of the racist abuse, Coronation Street has shown Asha suffer from panic attacks.
The character became extremely withdrawn, much to the concern of her friends and family, who had noticed worrying changes in Asha.
Viewers have seen Asha slowly open up to Lisa Swain (Vicky Myres). Lisa advised the young paramedic to report the incident to her managers.
However, for the most part, Asha has been trying to deal with the ordeal alone.
Asha was left even more horrified when she spotted Naomi (Melissa Batchelor) – the woman who was racist to her – at the Chariot Square hotel.
Her attempt to confront Naomi proved futile after the latter denied all of Asha’s allegations.
Following this, Asha confided in Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).
Despite Asha’s pleas that Bernie not say anything to Naomi, Bernie will take action against the racist woman in upcoming episodes.
Future scenes in Coronation Street will see Bernie interrupt Naomi’s presentation at the hotel, telling everyone about Naomi’s racism towards Asha.
This will leave Naomi fuming as she declares she will sue Bernie for defamation.
A legal battle is the last thing Asha could ask for, as the paramedic will turn to alcohol for solace.
Asha’s friend and ex-girlfriend, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), will grow concerned for her former partner.
Tanisha said: “They’ve remained really good friends.
“But I don’t think Asha will want to talk about this to anyone because she feels so alone and doesn’t want to admit that to anyone.”
Will Nina get through to Asha?
In June 2025, Tanisha teased the viewers about Asha’s love life after Nina in Coronation Street.
The actress said: “I don’t know where Asha’s love life is leading right now.
“She’s a career woman and she’s saving lives.
“Maybe not on screen but she’s saving lives in the background and she’s trying her best.”
