Bollywood celebrities took to social media to condemn the horrendous rape and murder of Dr Priyanka Reddy.

Recently, India as a nation was shocked to its very core by the agonising news of the brutal murder of Veterinary Dr Priyanka Reddy.

Dr PriyankaReddy was from Shamshabad, Hyderabad and worked in the Kolluru village.

Her body was found partially burnt under the Chatanpalli Bridge in Shadnagar on November 28, 2019.

The horrific incident occurred on the night of November 27. Priyanka was raped and then burnt by four men who reportedly reside in Narayanpet.

Unfortunately, India is known as one of the countries with the highest rape rates and many continue to go unreported.

News of the atrocities faced by Priyanka sparked national outrage and many began protesting under her banner.

As a result of this gruesome incident, many Bollywood stars expressed their shock and condemned Priyanka’s death.

Action-hero, Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to demand the end of such inhumane brutalities. He said:

“Whether it is #PriyankaReddy in Hyderabad, #Roja in Tamil Nadu or the law student gang-raped in Ranchi, we seem to be losing it as a society.

“It has been 7 years to the gut-wrenching #Nirbhaya case & our moral fabric continues to be in pieces. We need stricter laws. This needs to STOP!”

Sona Mohapatra who has previously been vocal about sexual harassment cases stated:

“Be it #PriyankaReddy in Hyderabad, #Roja in Tamil Nadu or the law student gang-raped by 12 men in Ranchi or Nibhaya from 7 years ago we all wake up & talk shock after the tragedy.

“In between all this, known sexual predators are endlessly platformed & sexual aggression normalised.”

“How many more innocent lives do we have to lose before the laws change?!! When will the daughters of India get justice? When will they be safe?!!”

Varun Dhawan continued to express the outrage of many as he also questioned why the accused are not afraid of the law. He posted:

“We as Indians discuss and are passionate about so many things. The entire country needs to come together and stop rapes from happening.

“Why is it that girls can be harmed to easily, why? Why aren’t these evil bastards not scared of the law?”

Varun Dhawan went on to mention how justice for Dr Priyanka Reddy and her family is a priority. He said:

“Right now, the only focus has to be on making sure that this girl and her family get justice.”

India has once again been bought to attention for another dreadful, shocking and barbaric rape and murder case.

Our thoughts are with the family of Dr Priyanka Reddy who suffered at the hands of inhumane individuals.

Like the Bollywood stars who have condemned this brutal murder of Priyanka, we hope she and her family receive justice.
