Burgers are a classic. All over the world, fast food restaurants host an array of them.

McDonald’s restaurants, for example, have different burgers for different locations. The McDonald’s India menu features burgers like the McAloo Tikki and the Chicken Maharaja Mac. Whilst McDonald’s Pakistan has the McArabia which is served in a pitta bread. This is to cater for the different palettes of each region.

McDonald’s aren’t the only ones to make millions off their beef patties. Restaurants over the globe claim to have the ‘best burgers in town’.

But, what can you do if you’re looking for more? More than just a plain beef patty, lettuce, and tomato wedged between two bread buns.

Fret not, DESIblitz delves into the world of burgers to deliver you the best burgers every food addict must try. Guaranteed to have you firing up the grill and trying them for yourself!

Desi Burgers

Recently it’s not just Desi burgers in Indian McDonald’s that have been causing a stir. Many western restaurants and fast food chains have been embracing the Desi burger. Combining a traditional burger with a Desi twist has also proven to be a hit on online recipe sites.

Typically, the recipes always include traditional spices such as curry powder, cardamom, and chilli flakes. These are usually stirred into a beef patty mix and sandwiched between two buns.

But you can also use mashed down lentils and red beans to make the patty as a vegetarian option! You can find some great veggie options here.

These burgers are mouth-wateringly good roasted on a grill or oven baked to lock in the spicy juices. Many online chefs and food bloggers suggest combining it with a yoghurt and mint based dip. For that extra Desi twist.

You could also try cutting these burgers up and eating them between roti. Or leaving out the bread all together and serving them with rice and chutney. They can be served with salad, rice, or even eaten alone!

Unusual Meat Burgers

We’ve all heard of beef burgers, but what about crocodile burgers, or ostrich burgers?

Usually found at food festivals and carnivals around the world, these types of burgers are becoming increasingly popular.

Although the meat isn’t easy to get your hands on. Certain shops like Aldi and Iceland have rolled out frozen ostrich steaks and crocodile rolls which can also be brought online from retailers.

Comments from people on online forums who have tried the meats have quoted “totally unexpected but really tasty!” and “meatier than I thought it would be!”

Whilst some burger stalls have come under fire from PETA and such for using these unusual animals to make their patties, they’re worth trying if you’re looking for something new!

So, if you’re not faint hearted and want to test your tastebuds with a crocodile burger – look for your nearest food festival or pop along to an alternative food restaurant and have a go for yourself!

Stuffed Burgers

Stuffing burgers has become a trend recently in the burger community.

Most restaurants now boast some sort of stuffed burger, and you can also buy them from supermarkets. Whether they’re stuffed with plain cheese, jalapenos and spices, or some sort of chutney. These burgers are a winner all round.

They’re also incredibly easy to make at home! All you need is the patty meat, your inside ingredients, and a grill and you’re away! Inject the burgers with a plastic kitchen syringe, or make a hole in the side and gloop your filling in!

You can try out some of these recipes and give it a go in your kitchen!

Freak Shake Burgers

We know this sounds unusual. But recently freak shake burgers have become a huge hit over in the US.

The freak shake burger consists of a mason jar filled with milkshake, decorated with sugar sweet treats, various sauces and sprinkles. The topped with a juicy burger sandwiched between two buns, with a straw through it resting on top.

The idea is you slurp your milkshake whilst eating your burger for the ultimate taste explosion. However, it is messy business and not ideal if you want to keep your clothing clean!

The best burgers can be topped with anything, from traditional cheese burgers, to the ‘Elvis burger’ consisting of a beef patty between two sugar donuts, smothered in jam and peanut butter.

Whilst the calories and sugar in this are ridiculously high, it’s definitely one to tick off the burger bucket list! We’ve included a recipe below if you’re brave enough to try it!
