Audiences praise Yunhi's Final Episode f

"I’ve no words to describe how good this serial was."

The drama serial Yunhi has finally ended and audiences have applauded the show for its beautiful ending, which is a rarity compared to the usual rushed endings of most drama serials.

The lead-up to the final episode saw Kaneez Fatima, known as Kim (Maya Ali) make the decision to leave Pakistan and return to America without her husband Dawood (Bilal Ashraf), whom she called David.

Dawood immerses himself in his career as a doctor and writes in his diary about life without Kim, whom he had fallen in love with.

The final scene saw a changed Kim return to Pakistan, a far cry from the girl who initially came to Pakistan for a visit.

Fans were pleased to see her return to her husband, sporting a hijab and the desire to be called by her real name Kaneez Fatima.

Many took to YouTube to express their relief that Yunhi ended on a positive note.

One viewer said: “We couldn’t have asked for a better ending.

“The way they portrayed Islam, hijab, and women’s rights in our religion, loved it, and the journey from a Western culture to hijab was absolutely beautiful.

“Thank you to the creators for making this one-of-a-kind serial.”

Another commented: “I’ve no words to describe how good this serial was.

“I don’t know why this drama didn’t get that many views as compared to other drama serials.

“Just because people don’t want to follow the Islamic teaching regarding how your partner should be treated gently and respectfully.

“By the way, beautifully done in the end.”

Yunhi centres on US-born Kaneez Fatima who wished to marry a man from a different religion.

Her father brings her to Pakistan in a bid for her to connect with her culture and she becomes intrigued with her cousin Dawood, whom she calls David.

The stark difference between the two countries is visible in the way Kim dresses compared to her cousins and she sets out on a journey to modernise the girls in the family.

Kim finds herself married to Dawood and she struggles to accept the culture which is a far cry from the life she had in the United States.

Yunhi stars Maya Ali, Bilal Ashraf, Behroze Sabzwari, Maha Hassan, Deepak Perwani and Tazeen Hussain.

It is directed by Ehteshamuddin and written by Sarwat Nazir.

Sana is from a law background who's pursuing her love of writing. She likes reading, music, cooking and making her own jam. Her motto is: "Taking the second step is always less scarier than taking the first."
