Preeya Kalidas revealed she was rushed to hospital after an accident at the gym.
The former EastEnders actress was left in “pain, blood and throbbing” after the early-morning mishap which required a visit to accident and emergency.
Preeya addressed the incident on X alongside a video of her bloodied finger being wrapped up.
She told fans: “So up and about starting the day in the gym.
“Then trapped finger in door.
“Now in A&E… moral of the story. Anything can happen at any point so LIVE!”

In another message, Preeya shared a short video of her right index finger being covered by a bandage.
Remaining in good spirits, Preeya wrote:
“Also thank you @NHSuk staff for being amazing.
“Through the pain, blood and throbbing the nurse made me laugh [and said] ‘I need to put this on like a condom’.”
Preeya Kalidas is known for her three-year stint on EastEnders playing Amira Masood from 2009 to 2012.
Preeya – who also played Monica in Bend It Like Beckham – joined the BBC One soap as Amira, who went on to marry Syed Masood.
But after their big day, Syed became increasingly distant towards Amira despite agreeing to try for a baby with her.
She then found out Syed was in love with Christian (John Partridge) and the feeling was mutual.
This led to Preeya’s soap departure as heartbroken Amira left Syed and Walford.
She reprised her role the following year, with viewers discovering Amira had been pregnant with Syed’s baby when she left him.
But after a failed attempt to win her husband back from Christian, Amira left for Birmingham with her daughter and Preeya left EastEnders for good.
Since EastEnders, Preeya Kalidas has had a career switch.
During her time on EastEnders, Preeya released her track ‘Shimmy’. She has now focused her efforts on music.
She released the single ‘Don’t Give Up’ in 2014, followed by ‘Can’t Live Without You’.
A studio album followed a year later.
Later in 2015, Preeya took on the role of Pinky in the stage musical of Bend It Like Beckham.
Despite leaving EastEnders, Preeya has not ruled out a return to the long-running soap.
In 2013, she said: “Well, she’s not dead.
“As I said, I had such a great time on EastEnders, it was probably one of my best jobs in the sense that I had the chance to play a great character and also work with some talented actors.
“We used to laugh a lot.”
