"this piece was encrusted with over 39,000 Swarovski crystals."
Athiya Shetty’s Mehendi outfit was unveiled and it was a gorgeous customised lehenga that was adorned with Swarovski crystals.
The actress tied the knot with cricketer KL Rahul in a low-key ceremony at her father Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala.
For the wedding, Athiya looked elegant in an intricately detailed ensemble. It was a serene soft pink Anamika Khanna lehenga.
Her look was accessorised with extravagant jewellery.
After the wedding celebrations drew to a close, images of Athiya’s other wedding ensembles have been revealed.
From her traditional saree for the Haldi ceremony to the white outfit and blazer for the Sangeet, Athiya Shetty put on a fashionable display.
But her Mehendi outfit is arguably Athiya’s most extravagant outfit.
She wore a custom-made chikankari lehenga that was designed by Anjul Bhandari. It was paired with a matching round-neck blouse and a dupatta, which was worn like a cape.
The designer explained that it was embellished with pearls and sequins, revealing how many Swarovski crystals were used for the lehenga.
Anjul said: “A pure georgette lehenga which is embellished all over with baby pearls and sequins… this piece was encrusted with over 39,000 Swarovski crystals.”
Like her other outfits, Athiya Shetty was styled by Ami Patel.
Ami said the chikankari in the lehenga was “hand-embroidered by the women artisans in the villages around Lucknow”.
What made Athiya’s ensemble even more special was that she chose to accessorise it with her grandmother’s earrings.
The massive chaand baalis added a regal edge to the outfit.
Athiya elevated her look even further with a matching maang tikka and bangles.
Fans loved Athiya’s elegant Mehendi look.
One said: “Simplicity and effortlessness in every look has made her stand out amongst all the recent brides.”
Another commented: “Such beautiful earrings wow.”
A third wrote: “So freakinn gorgeous.”
Meanwhile, KL Rahul opted for a sage green kurta with a matching jacket and a pair of white trousers.
It was not just Athiya who looked gorgeous, the decor was also a standout among guests.
The decor was done by Rani Pink and she said the event “was honestly so spectacular and looked like a dream!”
Speaking about the decor, Rani said: “Athiya and I sat on the colour boards, we hand-painted every element to get the mood board right, I travelled to Jaipur and worked with my artisans to block print these gorgeous tents and malmal drapes.
“We flooded every corner of the garden with blooming bougainvillaeas in hot pink, coral and white.
“The perfect colour pop for a beautiful winter day.”
Stating that the ceremony “was out of a fairytale book”, Rani added:
“And as the sunset, the milky bulbs came on like twinkling lights against a painted sky.”
